Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) will remain out of the starting nine on Sunday as the Rockies look to clinch a series victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Doyle left Saturday's match early after injuring his finger when attempting to make a catch. As a result, 30-year-old Sam Hillard will cover center field on Sunday afternoon. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Doyle's status as we enter the new week. Doyle has enjoyed a great 2024 season boasting a .268 AVG with 22 round-tripper and 26 stolen bases. Hillard has enjoyed a nice surge at the plate as of late, riding a .278 AVG and a .722 SLG. However, he has a difficult matchup against Milwaukee right-hander Freddy Peralta.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) is back in center field and is hitting cleanup for Colorado on Wednesday at Coors Field against Miami Marlins right-hander Max Meyer. Doyle will return to the starting lineup on Wednesday after sitting out the first two games of the series against the Fish due left-patellar tendinitis. It's something that the 26-year-old dealt with earlier this year as well, so it's worth watching moving forward. But for now, fantasy managers will want to get him right back into their starting lineups everywhere as Colorado's most potent fantasy name. He has taken the next step in his second MLB season in 2024, already reaching the 20/20 mark while delivering 63 RBI and 74 runs scored in 126 games. Doyle has hit .304 (14-for-46) with a homer, four RBI and three steals in his last 12 games since Aug. 12.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (leg) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday at Coors Field against the Miami Marlins. Doyle will miss a second straight game after being scratched from the series opener against the Fish with leg soreness. Manager Bud Black said that Doyle could be out a few more games, so it's unclear if he'll return to the field before Thursday's series finale against Miami. The Rockies will give Sam Hilliard another start in center field and he'll hit eighth against Marlins right-hander Roddery Munoz. The 26-year-old Doyle has taken the next step in his second year in the majors with 21 home runs, 25 stolen bases and 63 RBI while also hitting .269 (124-for-461) with an even .800 OPS. He's become a must-start in all fantasy leagues for his power/speed combination when he's active. Hilliard will merely be a low-upside DFS sleeper on Tuesday.
Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that outfielder Brenton Doyle (leg) may need another day or two off after he was a late scratch on Monday against the Miami Marlins due to leg soreness. Doyle should be considered day-to-day, but fantasy managers should be prepared to keep him on their benches for another couple of days. With Doyle out on Monday against the Fish, Sam Hilliard drew the start in center field at Coors Field. The 26-year-old Doyle has been the best offensive producer for the Rockies in 2024 and has evolved into a must-start for fantasy managers with his .269/.329/.471 slash line, .800 OPS, 21 home runs, 63 RBI, 25 stolen bases and 74 runs scored in 461 at-bats. He's currently hitting .253 (21-for-83) with three homers, four doubles, a triple, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 22 games in the month of August.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (leg) has been scratched ahead of Monday's game against the Miami Marlins. The team has decided to pull Doyle from the game due to right leg soreness. For now, Doyle is considered as day-to-day, so it looks like he'll avoid a trip to the injured list. In the meantime, Jake Cave will bat leadoff and cover right field versus right-hander Edward Cabrera. Doyle is in the middle of breakout campaign, so hopefully he doesn't miss much time. He's hitting .269 with 21 home runs and 63 RBI in 126 games this season. Fantasy managers might want to consider using Cave as a streaming option while Doyle is out. Cave is hitting .281 with seven home runs and 30 RBI against right-handed pitching this season.
