Bo Naylor Bashes Home Run No. 4 In Guardians Victory

Cleveland Guardians catcher Bo Naylor broke open a close game in the seventh inning with a three-run home run on Wednesday night. The game was scoreless coming into the inning, and Cleveland had scratched out one run before Naylor's three-run shot opened up a 4-0 lead. The team held on to win 4-2, with Naylor's homer proving to be the difference in the contest. It was his only hit of the day, as he went 1-for-3 with three RBI. On the season, the 25-year-old backstop is hitting just .191 with his four homers and a .300 wOBA. His batting average makes him hard to carry as a catcher in mixed leagues, but his power does make him viable as a DFS punt play when the Guardians are facing pitchers who are vulnerable to left-handed hitters.

Bo Naylor Sitting On Sunday

Cleveland Guardians catcher Bo Naylor is not in the starting lineup on Sunday afternoon when the Guardians conclude a series against the Los Angeles Angels. Instead, veteran Austin Hedges will get the nod behind the dish and bat in the eight-hole. Naylor enjoyed a productive day at the plate on Saturday, going 2-for-3 with his first long ball of the campaign. Prior to this two-hit effort, Naylor went 2-for-20 through his first six games of the campaign with no extra-base hits. Fantasy managers should expect Naylor to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday afternoon when they begin a series against the Chicago White Sox. Hedges has started in just one game before Sunday and went deep in that contest. However, he should not be targeted in DFS while facing Los Angeles southpaw Tyler Anderson.

Bo Naylor Goes Deep Twice On Thursday

Cleveland Guardians catcher Bo Naylor went 2-for-4 with two home runs during Thursday's spring training contest. Naylor tallied four RBI, which were all of Cleveland's runs during this contest. Last season, Naylor logged a career-high 123 contests and held a .201/.264/.350 slash line with 10 doubles and 13 home runs. He generated a .196 xBA and a .260 xwOBA which placed him in the first percentile in both statistics. He began to find his footing in August as he held a higher .226/.262/.468 slash line with four long balls. Naylor is expected to serve as the team's primary backstop with Austin Hedges operating as the No. 2 option. If Naylor continues to flash upside during camp, he could be worth a look in deeper two-catcher formats.
