Blake Snell Carves Up Orioles With 12 Strikeouts

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell continued his stellar second half in Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Orioles. Snell pitched six innings, allowing just one hit and two walks with 12 strikeouts. The 31-year-old was barely startable for fantasy managers in the first half of the season but has been outstanding in the second half. He now owns a 4-0 record with a 1.59 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP, and 94 strikeouts in 11 second-half starts and 62 1/3 IP. Snell will face another tough matchup in his next start at the Royals, but fantasy managers should have him in their rotation for his final few starts of the season.

Blake Snell Pulled After One Inning

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell gave a short outing on the mound during Thursday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Snell struggled heavily as he needed 42 pitches to get out of the first inning. He gave up two hits, allowed one earned run, and walked two batters during his short lived outing. The veteran southpaw didn't have his command, but will certainly get plenty of rest before his next start against the Milwaukee Brewers. Snell has been solid with five quality starts in his last five outings. These kinds of performances will frustrate fantasy managers, but they will need to stick with him.

Blake Snell Continues Dominant Run

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell continued to pitch like an ace on Sunday, tossing seven innings of one-run ball against the Oakland Athletics. Snell allowed six hits and two walks while striking out 10. The lefty has been on a tear since returning from the IL on July 9, allowing just six runs in 52 IP (0.97 ERA) with 70 strikeouts. Snell has excelled in the second half for the last three seasons, and at this point it appears to be something to pay attention to come draft season. Even if he starts slow, he is more than likely going to have a stretch like the one we are seeing now and possibly win some fantasy leagues.
