Carlos Estevez Open To Any Role With New Team

Philadelphia Phillies right-handed reliever Carlos Estevez said he's open to any role his new team gives him after being acquired from the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday in exchange for pitching prospects George Klassen and Samuel Aldegheri. "However I can put a grain of sand onto this beautiful beach that these guys built, I'm down to whatever, man," Estevez said on Monday. Estevez had been pitching well for the Angels this year before the trade, posting a 2.38 ERA and 0.74 WHIP with 20 saves, but now that he's in Philadelphia, he's going to lose a good chunk of fantasy value in what will likely continue to be a committee approach in the ninth inning. The 31-year-old will be sharing closing duties most likely with Jose Alvarado and Jeff Hoffman.

J.T. Realmuto Resting On Sunday

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Fantasy managers don't need to worry as this appears to be a routine rest day for Realmuto. In his absence, Drew Stubbs will do the catching and bat ninth versus right-hander Joey Cantillo. Fantasy managers who have Realmuto rostered should get him out of their lineups before first pitch.

Alec Bohm Back In Action For Phillies

Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (ankle) is starting at third base and is hitting cleanup on Sunday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians and rookie left-hander Joey Cantillo, who will be making his major-league debut. Bohm is back in action on Sunday after being pulled in the seventh inning of the 8-0 win over Cleveland with a left-ankle contusion. The injury obviously wasn't too serious, as the 27-year-old right-handed slugger is back in the lineup a day later. Bohm is currently sporting a career-high .297 average (116-for-391) with 11 home runs, a league-leading 36 doubles, a triple, 71 RBI and 45 runs scored in 102 games in his first All-Star campaign in his fifth year in the big leagues. Fantasy managers will want to get him back in all starting lineups against a young pitcher making his first start in the Show.

Tyler Phillips Tosses Complete Game Saturday

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Tyler Phillips threw a complete game shutout in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Guardians. The 26-year-old allowed just four hits and one walk over nine innings of work while striking out four. It was the second consecutive outing in which the righty did not allow a run, and he's now 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA (3.43 FIP), 0.76 WHIP, and 2:19 BB:K over 25 innings pitched. His next start lines up with the Mariners next Friday on the road, the team that strikes out the most in all of baseball, so he could be a solid waiver addition for fantasy teams looking for some short-term pitching help.

Kyle Schwarber Crushes 20th Home Run On Saturday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBI in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians. Schwarber blasted a three-run shot off Guardians pitcher Nick Sandlin in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Phillies a 7-0 lead. Schwarber's homer traveled 418 feet with an exit velocity of 105.9 mph. It was his 20th long ball of the year. The 31-year-old is slashing .245/.370/.447 with 20 home runs, 60 RBI, 67 runs, and four stolen bases through 93 games in 2024. Schwarber will look to build on Saturday's monster performance in the series finale on Sunday and is a must-start in all league formats.
