Weston Wilson Moves Rehab Assignment To Triple-A

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Tuesday that infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson's (oblique) minor-league rehab assignment has been moved to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Wilson began the 2025 season on the injured list due to a strained left oblique that he suffered in spring training, but the 30-year-old veteran is progressing on his rehab assignment and should be an option for the big-league roster as outfield depth before the end of April. In four rehab games to this point with Single-A Clearwater, he has just one hit in 10 at-bats with a stolen base, four walks and three runs scored over 14 plate appearances. Wilson was scheduled to play nine innings at second base on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley before most likely seeing action in the outfield later this week. In 40 games with the Phils in 2024, Wilson hit .284/.347/.489 with an .836 OPS, three homers, 10 RBI and three steals in 98 plate appearances.

Austin Hays Activated From Injured List And Starting On Tuesday

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Austin Hays (calf) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth against the visiting Seattle Mariners and right-hander Luis Castillo at Great American Ball Park. Outfielder Jacob Hurtubise was optioned to Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Hays is recovered from a strained calf and will be making his season debut on Tuesday against the M's. The 29-year-old is expected to see regular playing time for the Reds in left field now that he's back, giving him fantasy appeal in deep-mixed leagues. An All-Star in 2023 with the Baltimore Orioles, Hays battled injury last year with the Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies and finished with a .255/.303/.396 slash line, five home runs and 20 RBI in 85 total games played. Hays is hitless in two career at-bats against Castillo with one RBI.

Phillies Giving Brandon Marsh A Mental Break, Could Be Out Next Three Days

Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson said he wants to give struggling outfielder Brandon Marsh a mental and physical break. Marsh isn't in the starting lineup on Monday against the visiting San Francisco Giants at Citizens Bank Park, and there's a good chance he'll be out the next three days. Johan Rojas is starting in center field and is batting ninth on Monday against Giants right-hander Landen Roupp, and there's a good chance Rojas will start in center the next three days. Marsh is hitless in his last 26 at-bats and has gone 4-for-37 (.108) with a home run, four RBI, seven walks and 14 strikeouts in the first 14 games of the 2025 season. Marsh should eventually break out of his slump, but it might not be later this week when he returns from a little break. Rojas has yet to impress offensively in the big leagues, although he has gone 4-for-13 with two RBI in the early going in 2025.

Bryson Stott Hitting Leadoff On Monday

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott is at second base and is batting leadoff for Monday's series opener against the visiting San Francisco Giants and right-hander Landon Roupp at Citizens Bank Park. Stott has fared well against right-handed pitchers this year and will make his third straight start in the leadoff spot against a righty as a result. Overall, he's hitting a modest .250 (12-for-48) on the year with a homer, three doubles, six RBI, one stolen base, five runs scored, five walks and 14 strikeouts in 13 games played for the Phillies. Before his recent move to the top of the batting order, Stott had been in the eight-hole most days, so if this new lineup arrangement sticks, it will be a notable boost to his fantasy value. None of the Phillies hitters on Monday have faced Roupp in their careers.

Austin Hays Could Be Back In the Lineup On Tuesday

According to Charles Goldsmith of Cincinnati Magazine, manager Terry Francona hopes Reds outfielder Austin Hays (calf) will be back on Tuesday and that they'll evaluate him after he plays on Monday. Hays has played three games in Triple-A Louisville thus far after tweaking his calf in spring training. In those three games, he's had 10 plate appearances and has gone 2-for-9 with one home run and two RBI. Last year, Hays spent time with the Baltimore Orioles and the Philadelphia Phillies and slashed .255/.303/.396 with five home runs. It will be interesting to see where he fits into the Reds lineup because when he was healthy in 2022 and 2023, Hays hit 32 home runs in those two seasons combined. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should consider taking a flyer on him to see how it plays out.
