Jeff Hoffman Secures Fourth Save Of The Season

Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jeff Hoffman couldn't keep the team's shutout intact against the Braves, but he still managed to lock down the save on Wednesday afternoon. Hoffman entered with a 3-0 lead in the ninth inning but gave up a solo home run to Drake Baldwin. He struck out Eli White to end the game despite the long ball, which wasn't really all that long and would only have been a home run in four MLB stadiums, per Statcast. It was the first home run allowed by Hoffman this season, and he has a 1.74 ERA with 14 strikeouts across 10 1/3 innings. Hoffman has been very effective at the back end of Toronto's bullpen this season, helping his team to an 11-8 start to the season as they host Seattle for a weekend set starting Friday.

Bryce Harper Homers, Reaches Base Four Times

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper was terrific on Wednesday, going 2-for-3 with a homer and a pair of walks in an 11-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Harper also scored twice and cashed in two RBI. The 32-year-old former MVP hasn't been his usual world-beating self this season, but he is now up to a .269 AVG and .873 OPS to go with 11 runs, four homers, nine RBI, and four swipes. Those are solid numbers, even if slightly underwhelming for someone of Harper's caliber. Still, he is a must-start fantasy option and will likely improve as the season continues.

Kyle Schwarber Starting In Left Field On Wednesday

Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber is making the start in left field and will bat third for the Phillies on Wednesday against the visiting San Francisco Giants and left-hander Robbie Ray at Citizens Bank Park. Schwarber made only five starts in the outfield last year, and this will be his first start in the outfield in 2025. The 32-year-old left-handed slugger has had a strong start to his fourth season in Philadelphia, as he enters Wednesday's contest slashing .267/.421/.617 with a 1.038 OPS, a league-leading six home runs, a double, triple, 12 RBI, a stolen base and 15 runs scored in his first 17 games played. Fantasy managers shouldn't be getting their hopes up that Schwarbs will suddenly regain outfield eligibility this year. In DFS contests, fantasy managers will probably want to avoid the power threat against a tough lefty. Schwarber is hitless in four career at-bats against Ray.

Bryce Harper Homers On Tuesday

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in a 6-4 win over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. Harper blasted a two-run shot off Hayden Birdsong in the seventh inning to push the Phillies' lead to 6-3. The blast traveled 354 feet with an exit velocity of 106.2 MPH. Harper is off to a decent start in 2025, hitting .250 with three homers, nine runs, seven RBI, and four steals across 64 at-bats. The veteran remains one of the top fantasy hitters in the league.

Austin Hays Homers, Drives In Four On Tuesday

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Austin Hays turned in a big game in an 8-4 win over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday. In his debut with the Reds, Hays went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI to help spark Cincinnati to the win over Seattle. Hays strained his left calf during Spring Training and had spent all of the early portion of the regular season on the injured list before getting activated ahead of Tuesday's game. He made a good first impression as he blasted a three-run homer off Seattle starter Luis M. Castillo in the fifth inning. Hays is worth monitoring in fantasy moving forward.
