Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte continued his hot hitting with his second home run in as many games in a 6-5 loss to the Braves on Friday. It was the only hit in the game for the veteran, going 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, but he's still batting .353 to begin the year. After a hot spring, the former All-Star has continued to hit in the regular season, collecting 12 hits in his first eight games including four multi-hit performances. The switch hitter also has five RBI, 10 runs scored, and a stolen base. He ranks third in fantasy points for second basemen behind just Mookie Betts and Spencer Steer. He'll look to stay hot Saturday against LHP Max Fried, whom he is 2-for-8 off of with a walk in his career.

Baltimore Orioles left-handerJohn Means (forearm) will start Saturday in his second rehab appearance for Triple-A Norfolk. After missing most of the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Means is finally looking to be on track to begin being fantasy-relevant again. In 2023, he owned a 2.66 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts over 23 2/3 innings. We should expect Means to have at least one more rehab start as he continues to work his way back from a forearm strain he sustained in spring training. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Means when he returns to be a great source of wins for a stacked Orioles team.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielderLars Nootbaar(ribs) will play two rehab games for Triple-A Memphis before being re-evaluated on Monday. He will return to St. Louis on Monday and could be activated from the injured list ahead of the team's home series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Nootbaar is progressing well in his rehab as he continues to work his way back from two non-displaced fractures in his left ribcage. Look for Nootbaar to put up serviceable numbers once he returns from the injured list. The 26-year-old slashed .261/.367/.418 with 14 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs, and 11 stolen bases over 503 plate appearances in 2023.

San Diego Padres third basemanManny Machado (elbow) is ahead of schedule but weeks away from returning to the field. Recently, Machado threw from further distances and came out feeling good. At minimum, he is still weeks away from playing the field. In the short term, continue to expect Machado to get at-bats every day as San Diego's primary designated hitter as he continues to recover and rehab his elbow injury. Machado is off to a slow start this season, slashing .184/.295/.395 with two home runs, seven RBI, and several runs scored over 44 plate appearances. Despite the slow start, fantasy managers should continue to roll with Machado in all league formats.

Pittsburgh Pirates catcher/outfielderHenry Davisand third basemanKe'Bryan Hayes are out of the lineup Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles. For Davis, this is a typical day off for the catcher to regroup, as he has gone 0-for-12 with six strikeouts in the last three games. Joey Bart replaces Davis behind the plate and is batting eighth in Saturday's game. Hayes will get his first breather of the year, as he has started every game for the Pirates thus far while swinging a hot bat, going 11-for-34 in his first eight games. Jared Triolo will handle third base duties while Hayes is rested. Expect Davis and Hayes to be in Pittsburgh's lineup on Sunday in the series finale against the Orioles.
