Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene (elbow) is progressing in his rehab, according to Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press. Greene underwent Tommy John surgery on his non-throwing arm back in September and has been rehabbing and training at the team's complex in Florida. He's been hitting, playing catch, and doing some defensive drills, per Petzold. Greene should be on track to start on Opening Day, barring any setbacks, which is an excellent sign for both the Tigers and fantasy managers. After getting off to a slow start last season, the 23-year-old caught fire in July and August before getting hurt. He finished the season with a stellar .288/.349/.447 batting line to go along with 11 home runs, 37 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 378 at-bats. He will be a trendy name in fantasy drafts this spring, especially if he can remain healthy from now through spring training.

Free-agent relief pitcher Hector Neris is drawing interest from both the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers. Mark Feinsand of MLB Network stated that the two clubs have emerged as the front-runners to land the 34-year-old veteran. Neris is coming off an excellent 2023 season in which he finished with a 1.71 ERA, 1.054 WHIP, and 77:31 K/BB over 68 1/3 innings out of the Astros' bullpen. Either team would serve as a solid landing spot for Neris, as he would likely work high-leverage situations for both teams. He will be a good source for holds and the occasional save wherever he ends up signing,

Free-agent utility man Enrique Hernandez is drawing interest from the Los Angeles Angels, according to Ken Rosenthal. The veteran infielder had surgery to repair a double hernia back in October, so the market has been slow to show interest in him. He would fit in nicely with the Angels' lineup, as he can play all over the infield and can hit out of the top of the order. He hit .237/.289/.357 with 11 home runs, 61 RBI, and four stolen bases in 465 at-bats over 140 games between the Red Sox and the Dodgers last season. While he is coming off a down year, he still offers plenty of value to a big-league club due to his versatility.

Chicago Cubs shortstop Matt Shaw has been taking reps at third base, he told reporters. Shaw was the 13th overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft and was primarily a middle infielder in college at The University of Maryland. Shaw said he's taken "probably 99%" of his reps at third base and added that "you never know where the opportunities are gonna come. They could be anywhere." The Cubs are pretty set in the middle of their infield with Dansby Swanson at shortstop and Nico Hoerner at second so Shaw could see more playing time if he mans the hot corner. Shaw hit .357/.400/.618 with eight home runs, 28 RBI, and 15 steals across 157 at-bats over three levels of the Cubs' minor league system last year. He's a highly intriguing prospect and someone to keep an eye on in fantasy, particularly in dynasty leagues.

Free-agent starting pitcher James Paxton is drawing interest from the Baltimore Orioles, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. The veteran southpaw started 19 games for the Red Sox last season, putting up a solid 7-5 record to go along with a 4.50 ERA, 1.313 WHIP, and 101:33 K/BB over 96 innings. The 19 turns in the rotation were his most since 2019, so it was nice to see the oft-injured pitcher show some durability. He could be a nice, affordable one-year option for any team looking to bolster their starting rotation.
