Taijuan Walker Moving To Bullpen

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Taijuan Walker is moving from the starting rotation into the bullpen, according to manager Rob Thompson. This was expected with left-hander Ranger Suarez (back) returning from the injured list this weekend. Walker was the odd man out, but Thompson did say the Phillies could go to a six-man rotation at some point. In six starts, Walker posted a 2.54 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 22/13 K/BB ratio this season. The 32-year-old picked up a little stream on the waiver wire recently, but that will basically all be lost with the move to the bullpen.

Aaron Judge Blasts 11th Homer

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is on another planet at the plate right now. The reigning MVP crushed a homer off right-hander Zack Littell, which was his fourth in the last seven games. He would later single in the contest as well, which pushed Judge's multiple-hit streak to six games. Yes, you're reading that correctly, Judge has recorded two hits or more in six straight games. The right-handed slugger is hitting .432 on the season, which actually might be better than video game numbers. Judge has 11 home runs on the season and extended his hitting streak to 13 games with his performance on Saturday.

Kyle Stowers Hits Game-Winning Grand Slam

Miami Marlins outfielder Kyle Stowers came up clutch for his team during Saturday's game against the Athletics. Stowers got his team on the board in the third inning with a two-run blast off Osvaldo Bido. He was quiet again until hitting a game-winning grand slam off right-hander Mason Miller in the ninth inning. He finished his day 2-for-5 with two homers and six RBI in the win. The 27-year-old is having an incredible stretch with seven hits, four home runs, and 10 RBI over his last three games. He'll likely be a popular waiver wire addition given his recent play.

Jake Meyers Homers Twice, Drives In Seven On Saturday

Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers came alive at the plate during Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Meyers nearly hit for the cycle as the White Sox had no answers for him during Saturday's game. He smacked a solo homer off right-hander Davis Martin in the third inning. Meyers would hit another blast in the sixth inning which would give the Astros the lead. He finished his day 4-for-4 with two homers, a triple, a double, and seven RBI in the win. This was an incredible game from Meyers, but fantasy managers shouldn't rush to the waiver wire. Meyers is better known for his defense and is unlikely to be producing many seven-RBI games in the future.

Manny Machado Cranks Third Home Run

San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and a strikeout in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 32-year-old gave the Friars their first run of the game when he took Pirates pitcher Bailey Falter deep in the top of the seventh inning, spoiling his bid at a win. It was a 391-foot solo shot that left the bat at 114.3 MPH, accounting for his third home run and hardest-hit ball of the year. He's up to a strong .280 average now, to go along with 20 runs scored and six stolen bases. Machado is on pace to easily surpass his 2024 steal total of 11, and has dropped his strikeout rate from last season, too -- all while garnering a hard-hit ball nearly 10% more often (57.9%). He's also underperforming his xBA by a good bit (.326).
