Colorado Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday, retroactive April 13. Rockies manager Bud Black said he expects Bryant to only require the minimum stint on the injured list. Bryant is dealing with lumbar degenerative disc disease, which does sound serious. The organization believes it's something he'll need to manage, but he can continue his playing career. Bryant has been a non-factor in terms of fantasy baseball since signing with the Rockies in 2022. He can remain on the waiver wire in basically all fantasy formats, but hopefully Bryant can resume playing at some point this season. The expectation is Kyle Farmer will see more playing time with Bryant sidelined.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (illness) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Hernandez is currently day-to-day with a stomach bug. This doesn't sound like something that is going to force Hernandez to be placed on the injured list. In his absence, Andy Pages will cover right field while Tommy Edman takes over in center field versus right-hander Antonio Senzatela. Fantasy managers should continue to hold Hernandez who is slashing .281/.309/.563 with seven home runs and 16 RBI this season.

Chicago Cubs catcher Carson Kelly (wrist) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the San Diego Padres. Kelly was hit on the wrist by a pitch during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was forced to exit the contest and undergo X-rays to determine the severity of the injury. It appears Kelly has avoided any major injuries to his wrist. For now, Wrist should be considered as day-to-day, but he could land on the injured list if he doesn't get better in a few days. Miguel Amaya will do the catching and bat eighth versus right-hander Dylan Cease on Monday.

Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley continued to get things going offensively in Monday's 8-4 win over the Blue Jays. Riley went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a three-run HR. The 28-year-old crushed a third-inning Easton Lucas fastball over the center-field wall to score two and obliterated a fifth-inning Lucas slider deep into the center-field seats to score three. After collecting just two hits in March, Riley has looked like his old self and is now slashing .288/.329/.530 with four HR and 11 RBI in 70 plate appearances. Hopefully, he can help drive a turnaround for a Braves' lineup that is still struggling overall.

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane Baz brought swing-and-miss stuff once again in Monday's 16-1 drubbing of the Red Sox. Baz pitched six innings, allowing one run on two hits (including a solo home run) and no walks with 11 strikeouts. The 25-year-old now has double-digit strikeouts in two of his three starts, culminating in a 2-0 record with a 1.42 ERA, a 12.79 K/9 rate, and a 1.89 BB/9 rate in 19 IP. His curveball has been one of his best swing-and-miss pitches, and he has thrown it nearly 15% more often in 2025 compared to 2024. He will be put to the test in his next scheduled start against the Yankees, but he has been so hot that fantasy managers may find the potential reward worth the risk of starting him.
