The Detroit Tigers announced on Tuesday that they placed outfielder Manuel Margot (knee) on the 10-day injured list with left-knee inflammation and recalled outfielder Brewer Hicklen from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. Margot will miss at least the next 10 days after injuring his knee in the team's 6-2 win over the visiting New York Yankees on Monday. The Tigers signed the 30-year-old veteran given all the injuries to their outfielders early this year, but now Margot will be on the sidelines as well. The Dominican outfielder started the year off with Detroit going 6-for-19 with a run scored and three RBI in a short-side platoon role. He has no business being rostered in mixed fantasy leagues. Given all the injuries to Detroit's outfielders, Justyn-Henry Malloy and Ryan Kreidler should benefit the most from a playing-time perspective until one of Matt Vierling (shoulder), Wenceel Perez (spine) or Parker Meadows (arm) can return.

The Athletics have placed outfield prospect Ryan Lasko (undisclosed) on the 7-day injured list at High-A. The Athletics did not specify when Lasko sustained this injury. The Athletics drafted the 22-year-old in the second round of the 2023 MLB Draft. Last summer, Lasko spent most of his time at Low-A before moving up to High-A. With Low-A Stockton, the Rutgers product posted a .225/.359/.322 slash line with 19 doubles and four home runs. He did most of his damage on the basepaths, swiping 20 bags. Then at High-A, Lasko held a .245/.341/.342 line with seven doubles and 13 stolen bases across 41 contests. When he returns to action, fantasy managers should expect Lasko to open the 2025 campaign with High-A Lunsing. He could push for a mid-season Double-A debut.

San Diego Padres pitching prospect Francis Pena (undisclosed) will participate in extended spring training. The team did not specify when Pena sustained this injury. The right-hander will now be built up more slowly in extended camp before making his regular-season debut. Last season, the 24-year-old opened the campaign at the High-A level and was able to progress through Triple-A. Through 21 innings at High-A, Pena held a near-perfect 0.86 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP. At Double-A, continued to perform well, posting a strong 2.05 ERA with a 0.87 WHIP across 26 1/3 innings of work. However, during his first brief 15 2/3 innings of work at the Triple-A level, Pena took a step back, holding a 5.17 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP. When he is cleared to return, he will likely open the season with Triple-A El Paso.

Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Hunter Cranton (concussion) opened the minor league season on the injured list due to a concussion. Cranton suffered this injury during a Cactus League game after being struck by a comebacker. While the 24-year-old has been able to slowly start increasing his workload, he is still experiencing concussion symptoms. Cranton joined the Seattle organization last season with a third-round pick from Kansas. He spent time at Low-A with the Modesto Nuts. Across eight 1/3 innings of work out of the bullpen, the 24-year-old posted a 3.24 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. He held a 4:14 BB:K and did not allow a home run. When he returns to action, he could open the campaign at High-A.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi (groin) is not in Tuesday's lineup for a road matchup with the Guardians. The 30-year-old exited Sunday's contest with an adductor injury and is apparently still not ready to go even after the team's off day on Monday. The former All-Star had a solid start to the season, going 9-for-31 (.290) with a pair of home runs, six RBI, and five runs scored through nine games. For now, consider him day-to-day. Brooks Baldwin will get the start in left field for Chicago and bat eighth. The 24-year-old is 7-for-25 (.280) thus far with a home run and five RBI. With temps near freezing in Cleveland and an implied run total of less than three for the Sox, Baldwin is probably an avoid in both season-long and DFS today.UPDATE: Manager Will Venable said that Benintendi doesn't feel as good as the team had thought, so he will get scans done on Tuesday afternoon.
