Ryan Burr Could Throw Bullpen Next Week

Toronto Blue Jays right-handed reliever Ryan Burr (shoulder) is working towards potentially throwing his first bullpen session next week, according to manager John Schneider. Right-shoulder inflammation kept Burr out for all of spring training, and he's still trying to work his way back to eventually begin facing live hitters. Because of how long he's gone without facing hitters, it wouldn't be a surprise if the 30-year-old veteran wasn't able to make his season debut until sometime in May. The former fifth-round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015 out of Arizona State University made 34 appearances (four starts) in his first season with Toronto last year and had a 4.13 ERA (3.07 FIP) and a 1.255 WHIP with a career-high 47 strikeouts and 12 walks in 32 2/3 innings pitched. Burr is off the fantasy radar.

Tylor Megill Looks Sharp In Home Opener

New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill was incredibly successful on the mound during Friday's outing against the Toronto Blue Jays. The right-hander tossed 5.1 shutout innings, allowing two hits, three walks, and struck out four in the win. It's a shame he wasn't able to go deeper into the game, but the Mets bullpen was almost just as sharp as Megill was on Friday. Megill has allowed one run on five hits over 10.1 innings during his first second starts of the season. He'll head into a favorable matchup against the Miami Marlins during his next start.

Wilyer Abreu Collects Three Hits

Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu continued his impressive start to the season during Friday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Abreu wasted little time as he took starting pitcher Erick Fedde deep in the first inning. The fun didn't stop there for Abreu as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI in the victory. After that game, Abreu is hitting .500 with three homers and eight RBI through eight games. He is quickly becoming a must-have fantasy option with the way he's swinging the bat.

Shota Imanaga Impressive In Win

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Shota Imanaga was excellent on the mound during the home opener against the San Diego Padres on Friday. The left-hander was almost perfect outside of a solo home run to catcher Martin Maldonado in the third inning. He allowed four hits, one run, and registered four strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings of work in the win. Imanaga has been impressive through two starts with a 0.98 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings of work. He'll look to keep the good times rolling against the Texas Rangers during his next start.

Julio Rodriguez Posts Three-Hit Performance

Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez did a little bit of everything during Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Rodriguez was hitless over his last two games coming into Friday's contest, but he made up for it here. He went 3-for-6 with a home run, stolen base, and one walk in a wild 10-9 loss in 11 innings. Rodriguez took right-hander Justin Verlander deep for his second blast of the season. The 24-year-old hasn't been great at the plate this season, but remains a must-start fantasy option. Hopefully this performance will help Rodriguez get it going at the plate.
