Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader hit a home run during his only plate appearance on Tuesday in his squad's 8-3 win against the Chicago White Sox. Bader came in to pinch-hit for teammate Trevor Larnach in the top of the ninth and promptly blasted his second HR of the season, scoring DaShawnKeirsey Jr. and Byron Buxton to bring their run total to eight. The 30-year-old has just three hits on the season, but they're all of the extra-base variety (two homers, one double). Bader has oddly been better against right-handed pitchers in his career, and that's stayed true in 2025. All three of the New York native's hits have come off righties thus far, while he's 0-for-4 against lefties.

Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Kyle Brnovich tallied seven punchouts across his first four innings of the regular season at Triple-A on Tuesday evening. Brnovich logged four innings of work and allowed two earned runs and four hits. He served up just one free pass. Most of his damage came on a two-run single by Tristan Gray in the fourth inning. Last season, Brnovich spent his entire campaign receiving his second look at the Double-A level. Across 75 innings with Double-A Bowie, the right-hander posted a 3.96 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP. He tallied 77 punchouts. This was a steady improvement compared to the 4.50 ERA and 1.08 WHIP he held across High-A and a brief taste of Double-A during the 2023 season. He missed most of 2022 and the start of the 2023 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Brnovich's development at Triple-A as he could push for a late-season MLB debut if he shows steady improvement with Norfolk.

Cincinnati Reds corner infielder Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand) is starting at first base and batting sixth on Wednesday against the visiting Texas Rangers and right-hander Jack Leiter at Great American Ball Park. Encarnacion-Strand was hit by a pitch on his right hand in Monday's game against Texas and didn't play on Tuesday. However, the 25-year-old is back in there for the series finale and will face a young hurler who looked much better in his first start of the 2025 season after struggling in his rookie year in 2024. He has never faced Leiter and will come into Wednesday's game carrying a .286 (4-for-14) early-season batting average with a home run, double, RBI, two runs scored, one walk and four strikeouts in his first four games of the year. Power is CES's primary calling card, and he should play regularly for Cincy as long as he's healthy.

Miami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee has swiped four bags across the first four contests of the Triple-A regular season. While he has only tallied one hit across these games, Marsee has drawn five walks (.368 OBP) and made a significant impact on the basepaths. After not swiping a bag in the season opener, Marsee stole at least one in his past three games and posted a two-steal performance on Tuesday evening. Marsee is considered the No. 24 prospect in the Miami system on MLB Pipeline. Last summer, the 23-year-old spent most of his time at the Double-A level but finished the season at Triple-A. Across 115 total contests, Marsee swiped an impressive 44 bags while posting a modest .185 AVG but having a solid .341 OBP. If Marsee is able to develop his bat, he could become a prospect to monitor, given his elite speed. His upside is limited for now, as he relies heavily on his eye to reach first base.

The Texas Rangers continue to manage shortstop Corey Seager's calf injury, and he's out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Seager has been playing through the issue, but the Rangers aren't taking any chances early in the season. Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant expects Seager to sit in day games after an evening contest. Josh Smith will get the start at the 6 on Wednesday and will hit sixth against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene. Smith has one hit in just three career at-bats versus Greene. Seager's minor calf injury could be contributing to his slow start at the plate this year, as he's gone just 3-for-17 with a run scored, two walks and four strikeouts in his first five games of 2025. Ezequiel Duran is starting at the hot corner for the Rangers and will hit ninth. After Thursday's off day, Seager should be back for Friday's series opener against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays.
