San Diego Padres outfielder Gavin Sheets went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, a walk, and four RBI during their 7-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Monday evening. Sheets tallied his first hit in the second frame, an RBI double that scored Jackson Merrill and Jake Cronenworth. He would then cross home plate on a Fernando Tatis Jr. single. After hitting a single in the fourth, Sheets would tally his second double of the contest in the fifth inning, which scored Cronenworth for the second time and Xander Bogaerts. He would eventually score again on a Jason Heyward double. Through his first five games of the campaign, Sheets has only gone hitless in one and held an overall .500/.533/.857 slash line with three extra-base hits. He is worth streaming in deeper formats while he enjoys this hot stretch. He will face southpaw Logan Allen on Tuesday.

San Francisco Giants first baseman Wilmer Flores went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI during their 7-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Monday evening. Flores tallied an RBI single in the second frame off Houston right-hander Ronel Blanco. This hit scored outfielder Heliot Ramos. Later in the sixth, Flores would launch a three-run shot, which scored Jung Hoo Lee and Patrick Bailey. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a productive start to the campaign, going 4-for-15 with three long balls, eight RBI, and a 1:1 BB:K. After going deep just four times across 71 contests last season, Flores is just one home run away from matching that number in 2025. Fantasy managers should expect Flores to continue to serve as the everyday DH in San Francisco while Jerar Encarnacion (hand) remains sidelined.

Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson went 2-for-5 with a home run and a double during their victory over the Athletics on Monday evening. Swanson went deep for the second-straight game in the opening frame off Athletics right-hander Joey Estes. Later in the sixth inning, Swanson hit his second double of the season, scoring Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki. Through his first seven games of the season, Swanson has posted a solid .259/.333/.556 slash line with four extra-base hits and five RBI. This is a nice start for Swanson as he held an underwhelming .242/.312/.390 line with just 16 round-trippers during the 2024 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to view Swanson as a solid low-end No. 1 shortstop in all formats. He will face right-handed pitcher Luis Severino on Tuesday evening.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Thomas Harrington to the majors to make his MLB debut on Tuesday evening against the Tampa Bay Rays. Harrington was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but fell short. However, Harrington did not need to wait long before receiving the call to the big leagues. He is considered to be the 79th best prospect in baseball on MLB.com. In spring training, Harrington tallied seven punchouts and held a 5.59 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP across nine 2/3 innings. Last season, he opened the campaign at Double-A and eventually reached Triple-A. Across 68 1/3 innings with Double-A, Harrington posted a strong 2.24 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP. At Triple-A, the 23-year-old held a 3.33 ERA with a stellar 0.93 WHIP in 46 innings of work. Harrington is worth adding in all 12+ team formats as he could earn a permanent spot in the rotation if he has an impressive MLB debut.

Chicago Cubs first baseman Michael Busch connected on his first home run of the season on Monday night against the Athletics. He finished 3-for-6 with two runs scored, a hit-by-pitch, and four RBI. The Cubs cleanup hitter got the 18-run onslaught started early with a two-run blast to right-center in the first inning off of Joey Estes. The 27-year-old has been locked in as the Cubs' cleanup hitter in the early going this season and has gone 7-for-24 (.292) with a .363 wOBA. He should continue to put up good run-production numbers as long as Chicago's offense is clicking on all cylinders. He hit 21 home runs in 152 games last season with a .336 wOBA, and he looks to be on roughly the same trajectory in the early part of the season.
