Washington right-handed pitching prospect Zach Brzykcy (leg) is dealing with a left leg injury that affects him when he lands. Brzykcy has begun throwing bullpens and is viewed as day-to-day. Brzykcy has not appeared in a spring training contest since February 25. Fantasy managers should expect Brzykcy to continue to increase his workload. Seeing him throw bullpens is a positive sign and suggests he could be turning the corner in his recovery. Last season, the 25-year-old made his MLB debut and allowed nine earned runs across five 2/3 innings of work. He tallied four punchouts and served up three free passes. Across 35 1/3 innings in the minor leagues last season, Brzykcy held a strong 2.04 ERA with a stellar 0.82 WHIP. When healthy, he will continue to compete for a role in the Washington bullpen.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Wade Meckler (undisclosed) exited Sunday's contest with an undisclosed injury. Meckler was removed in the opening frame of the contest. He grounded out in his lone at-bat. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the team did not provide an update on his injury after the game. Meckler made his MLB debut in 2023 and held a .232/.328/.250 slash line with two doubles and a 4:6 BB:K ratio across 20 contests. Last summer, he battled a wrist injury which kept him sidelined through most of the first half of the campaign. When he did return, he spent most of his time with Triple-A Sacramento. Across 44 games, he posted a .288/.357/.508 line with eight home runs and three stolen bases. When healthy, he will likely return to Triple-A.

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Jose Herrera (wrist) exited Sunday's contest early due to right wrist soreness. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during the week in case he suffered a serious injury. The 28-year-old is currently competing for the No. 2 catcher role behind Gabriel Moreno. Last season, Herrera posted a .227/.290/.320 slash line across 42 contests. He went deep one time and added four doubles. He generated a weak .214 xBA with a .268 xSLG. However, he did show a strong eye at the plate as he posted an excellent 19.9 percent chase rate. If the switch-hitter were to miss any time, fantasy managers should expect Adrian Del Castillo, Rene Pinto, and Aramis Garcia to see an uptick in playing time during the remainder of camp.

Chicago Cubs right-handed pitcher Yency Almonte (shoulder) could contend for a role in the bullpen during the 2025 season. Earlier in the offseason, the Cubs signed Almonte to a minor-league contract. Almonte at first elected free agency but returned to his former club. The Cubs initially acquired Almonte in the Michael Busch trade last winter. The Cubs viewed Almonte as an integral piece of their bullpen. The 30-year-old held a 3.45 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP across his first 15 2/3 innings with the Cubs before being shut down with a shoulder injury. Almonte is still recovering from this injury and will likely open the 2025 season in Triple-A as he increases his workload. However, fantasy managers should expect Almonte to be viewed as one of the top options in the system when the Cubs need additional bullpen depth. When he does return to the majors, he could have value in deeper holds leagues as he tallied six in just 17 appearances last summer.

Colorado Rockies starting pitching prospect Chase Dollander allowed two hits and five earned runs across 1 2/3 innings in his latest spring start. He allowed four free passes and tallied just one punchout. Through 6 2/3 innings in spring training, the budding ace has held a 12.15 ERA with a 1.80 WHIP. He has served up five free passes with just eight punchouts. The Tennessee product is currently competing for a spot in the starting rotation, but given his struggles, the team may opt to slow his development. Last season, the 23-year-old made his professional debut. Through 70 innings at High-A, Dollander posted a 2.83 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. Then at Double-A, the former ninth overall pick posted a strong 2.25 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP across 48 frames. If he were to open the season in the minor leagues, he will likely make his Triple-A debut and be a popular stash candidate in all standard formats.
