New York Mets outfielder Eddie Rosario, who had been playing with Triple-A Syracuse, was released by the team on Sunday. The Mets signed Rosario to a minor-league deal on Aug. 13 and have already moved on after he went 3-for-29 (.103) with a homer, two RBI and eight strikeouts in seven games played at Syracuse. The 32-year-old left-handed-hitting veteran also hit a combined .175/.215/.316 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases in 319 plate appearances over 91 games with the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves this year. It's been a steep fall for Rosario, who last year hit .255/.305/.450 with 21 home runs and 74 RBI in 142 games with the Braves. If he latches on with another team before the end of the 2024 season, it will be his fourth club of the year.

Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford (finger) started his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday and went 0-for-3. Crawford started at shortstop and was replaced after playing five innings. Although the 29-year-old didn't play the full game, it's still encouraging that he was able to play on defense in his first game. Barring a setback after a few more contests in the minors, he could rejoin Seattle's lineup at some point next week. Crawford is unlikely to suddenly boost Seattle's floundering offense when he returns from the injured list, as he was hitting a disappointing .204 (60-for-294) with nine home runs, 32 RBI and five stolen bases in 77 games this year before getting hurt. Leo Rivas has been serving as the team's starting shortstop in Crawford's absence.

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed right-hander Hunter Stratton (knee) on the 60-day injured list on Sunday with a rupture of his left patella tendon and selected the contract of left-hander Brady Feigl from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Stratton suffered the devastating knee injury during his outing on Saturday against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds and will now miss the rest of the 2024 season. There's a good chance the 27-year-old will need surgery as well. The former 16th-round pick in 2017 out of Walters State Community College went 2-1 this year with a 3.58 ERA (3.25 FIP), a 1.17 WHIP, his first career save and a 33:7 K:BB in 37 2/3 relief innings. Feigl will be making his major-league debut for the Pirates whenever he gets into a game out of Pittsburgh's bullpen.

Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jared Triolo isn't included in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park. Triolo will get a day off to rest after starting in each of the team's last eight games. Alika Williams is getting the nod at second base for this one and will bat eighth against Reds right-hander Nick Martinez. The 26-year-old Triolo is getting more run in Pittsburgh's lineup with both Nick Gonzales and Ke'Bryan Hayes on the shelf. He's still not much more of a fantasy option in mixed leagues, though, and is hitting .197/.283/.285 on the year with six homers, 33 RBI and five steals in 95 games played in his second year in the big leagues. Fantasy managers should be able to find better DFS options than Williams, who is still searching for his first major-league home run in his 75th career game.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mickey Moniak (elbow) is back in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman at the Rogers Centre, playing center field and batting in the five-hole. Moniak will return to action after missing the last couple of contests due to a minor elbow injury. The 26-year-old left-handed batter has hit .125 in eight career at-bats against Gausman but has been productive this month, going 15-for-47 (.319) with two home runs, four doubles, six RBI and seven runs scored in 14 starts. He's also been much more productive against righties in 2024, batting .232 (68-for-293) against them with all eight his home runs. Moniak will be a low-upside DFS sleeper in his return to the lineup. With Mike Trout (knee) out the rest of the season, Moniak will be a regular in center field for the Halos when they face righties.
