Travis Sykora Continues Solid Season At Single-A Fredericksburg

Washington Nationals pitching prospect Travis Sykora earned Carolina League Pitcher of the Week honors after pitching five hitless innings in his start on Friday for Single-A Fredericksburg. The 20-year-old has been effective all season at Single-A with a 2-3 record, 2.67 ERA, and 0.94 WHIP this year in 14 starts. The right-hander has recorded 86 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings. The Nationals' No. 13 prospect is dealing right now and could earn a promotion to High-A soon. He could be a few years away from the majors, but he looks like a valuable future member of the Nationals' starting rotation.

Kyle Hendricks Turns In Quality Start Against Twins

Chicago Cubs right-handed starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks turned in a quality start Monday against the Twins with six innings of two-run ball, allowing five hits and a walk to go with five strikeouts. This year's numbers aren't pretty for the veteran as Hendricks has a 6.60 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 16 starts. He has 65 strikeouts in 91 1/3 innings. While the start was encouraging, it is still tough to roster a pitcher with those ratios and limited strikeout potential. Hendricks will need to build off this outing to be considered as a waiver wire addition.

Bo Naylor Triples, Steals Base For Guardians

Cleveland Guardians catcher Bo Naylor went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a stolen base in the team's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. The 24-year-old backstop showcased his power and a bit of speed in Monday's game. Naylor is hitting .206 with eight homers, 32 RBI, and four stolen bases this season. He hit just .189 in July so he'll be looking to turn things around this month. He is still a viable option in two catcher leagues with the potential to add even more value the rest of the season.

Daniel Hudson Adds To Saves Total

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson recorded his eighth save in Monday's 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, allowing one hit in an 11-pitch ninth inning. Hudson's save was his first since July 22, having held two games while blowing his sixth save opportunity in between. He is 6-1 with a 1.76 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in 46 innings over 47 games, striking out 48 and walking 10. Hudson continues to be the Dodgers' top option for save opportunities, and as long as he is, fantasy managers will have to make room for him.
