Clayton Kershaw Felt Soreness During Saturday's Bullpen Session

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) reported soreness during Saturday's bullpen session. According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Kershaw's next rehab outing on Tuesday could be pushed back. The southpaw threw three innings during a rehab outing with Single-A on Wednesday and was scheduled to throw another rehab outing on Tuesday. The Dodgers will monitor Kershaw over the next few days. He owned a 2.46 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and a 137:40 K: BB across 131 2/3 innings in 2023. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Kershaw, who is expected to return sometime around the All-Star break.

Emmanuel Clase Notches Another Save On Saturday

Cleveland Guardians Emmanuel Clase struck out one over a perfect inning to earn the save during Saturday's 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. The 26-year-old needed just 15 pitches to make quick work of the Blue Jays en route to his 23rd save. He owns a 0.74 ERA, 0.61 WHIP, and a 37 :3 K: BB across 36 1/3 innings. Clase is second in the majors with 23 saves behind only St. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley's 25 saves. Clase is one of the best relievers in the game, and fantasy managers should continue to roll with him in all league formats.

Patrick Sandoval Lands On The Injured List

Los Angeles Angels left-hander Patrick Sandoval (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured with a left elbow strain. The Angels recalled reliever Guillermo Zuniga from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move. He exited Friday's start against the Los Angeles Dodgers after just 2 1/3 innings. Sandoval will be eligible to return from the injured list around the All-Star break. Before landing on the injured list, Sandoval owned a 5.08 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and an 81: 35 K: BB across 79 2/3. Zuniga won't take Sandoval's spot in the rotation, and the Angels will look for a replacement for the southpaw in the next few days.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa Homers Twice On Saturday

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a hit-by-pitch in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Guardians. He took Guardians right-hander Ben Lively deep in the top of the third inning for his first home run of the game. The 29-year-old later smashed another solo shot in the top of the eighth inning for his second long ball on Saturday. He has collected a hit in seven straight games, hitting .384 (10-for-23) with two home runs, five RBI, and three runs scored during the streak. Fantasy managers can use Kiner-Falefa as a streamer while he's wielding a hot bat.

Jon Berti Improving, Could Begin Rehab Assignment In A Few Weeks

New York Yankees infielder Jon Berti (calf) is showing improvements and could begin a rehab assignment in a "few more weeks." The 34-year-old was transferred to the 60-day injured list and won't be eligible to come off the injured list until around the All-Star break. "Hopefully, in a few more weeks here, he'll start to be ready for a rehab assignment, but it's a pretty good injury," said Yankees manager Aaron Boone. Berti is slashing .273/.322/.327 with a home run, six RBI, and six runs over 17 games in 2024. Fantasy managers outside AL-Only and deep-league formats can leave Berti on the waiver wire as he is expected to serve in a utility role once he is activated from the injured list.
