Harrison Bader Not Ready to Return

Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader (finger) will miss another game on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. DaShawn Keirsey Jr. will make another start in center field and will hit ninth against Rays right-hander Taj Bradley. This will be the second straight game that Bader has missed due to a sore finger. However, the injury isn't considered serious, so the 30-year-old veteran could return to center-field duties on Wednesday with Byron Buxton (concussion) still on the injured list. Keirsey has functioned as a reserve outfielder for the Twins this year but has played in 42 games due to injuries in Minnesota's outfield. The 28-year-old left-handed hitter has gone 7-for-58 (.121) with a homer, four RBI, five steals and five runs scored with 20 strikeouts and just one walk. At the bottom of the order, fantasy managers setting DFS lineups should look elsewhere.

Brett Baty Hitting Fifth on Tuesday

New York Mets infielder Brett Baty is making the start at second base and is batting fifth in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Chicago White Sox and right-hander Jonathan Cannon. Baty has been one of the team's most productive hitters in the month of May, leading to his highest lineup positioning of the year. The 25-year-old former 12th overall pick in 2019 has gone hitless in the last two games but is 14-for-50 (.280) with five home runs, a double, 13 RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base in 17 games in the month of May to raise his season slash line up to .240/.275/.471 with a .746 OPS in 104 at-bats. It's nothing to write home about, but the post-hype prospect could finally be finding his groove offensively at the big-league level. Baty is worth a waiver-wire pickup if he's available in deep-mixed leagues and is an attractive DFS play on Tuesday as well.

Adrian Houser Tosses Six Scoreless Innings

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Adrian Houser was once again excellent on the mound during Monday's game against the New York Mets. Houser recently joined the South Siders and has been basically untouchable on the mound since doing that. On Monday, Houser tossed six scoreless innings, allowing three hits, and striking out six batters in a no-decision. He has thrown 12 straight scoreless frames with his new team. The track record would suggest that Houser will come back down to Earth soon, so fantasy managers don't need to jump on the waiver wire just yet. Houser might be worth rostering in AL-only formats, but isn't a must-have pitcher despite his recent success.

Francisco Lindor Delivers Walk-Off Sacrifice Fly

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was the hero with the bat during Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox. For some reason, the Mets bats looked lost against right-hander Adrian Houser during this game. They were able to scratch across a run and tie the game until Lindor delivered a game-winning sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. It wasn't the most dramatic way to win a game with a bases loaded sac fly, but Mets fans will take it. Lindor finished the game 1-for-4 with one RBI as the Mets take the first game of this series.

Harrison Bader Scratched With Sore Finger

Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader (finger) has been scratched from the lineup for Monday's series opener against the hosting Tampa Bay Rays with a sore finger, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. "I think he's gonna be fine," Baldelli said, while also stating that the Twins will be sure "he's good to go before we send him out there." Bader felt his finger on a swing on Sunday and not when he was hit by a pitch. DaShawn Keirsey Jr. will start in center field and bat ninth on Monday against Rays right-hander Zack Littell. Fantasy managers should consider Bader, who has been filling in in center field with Byron Buxton (concussion) on the injured list, day-to-day and check back to see if he's active on Tuesday. The 30-year-old has hit above .300 in May and has five homers, six doubles, 21 RBI, six steals and 18 runs scored in 46 games overall in his first year in Minnesota.
