New York Mets left-hander Sean Manaea (oblique) said that he's feeling good after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection in his strained right oblique on Tuesday. Manaea still has a ways to go, but the fact that he's feeling better is certainly good news. Still, the 33-year-old needs to be fully built up again after dealing with his oblique injury for most of spring training. It means that fantasy managers won't be able to rely on the veteran southpaw until May, at the earliest. It's also probably fooling to expect the former first-rounder to be as good as he was in his first year with the Mets in 2024 when he went 12-6 with a 3.47 ERA (3.83 ERA) and 1.08 WHIP with 184 strikeouts and 63 walks in 32 innings covering a career-high 181 2/3 innings pitched in the regular season. A lower arm slot led to his sinker being more effective late in the season, but can he maintain that good form after this injury?

Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 6-1 victory over the White Sox, but his one hit was a decisive one. He smashed a three-run home run to left on the first pitch he saw from Sean Burke in the fourth inning. The Twins lead went from 1-0 to a much more comfortable 4-0 with the blast, and the team cruised to a second straight win after an 0-4 start. The home run was already Bader's third blast of the season, and he has gone 4-for-16 (.250) in his five games, with all four of his hits for extra bases and eight RBI. He and the Twins are back in action on Thursday afternoon for their home opener against Houston and Hunter Brown. Bader's quick start could lead to full-time at-bats, and since he brings good speed potential along with his power surge, he's worth a look as at least a short-term solution in mixed leagues.

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso came up clutch for his team during Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Alonso kicked off the game with an RBI double in the first inning. It only got better from there as Alonso blasted a clutch game-tying three-run home run in the eighth inning that would send the game to extra innings. He finished his day 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI in the 6-5 win in 11 innings. The Mets offense hasn't been great to start the season, but Alonso has been solid with two homers and eight RBI in six games.

Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader hit a home run during his only plate appearance on Tuesday in his squad's 8-3 win against the Chicago White Sox. Bader came in to pinch-hit for teammate Trevor Larnach in the top of the ninth and promptly blasted his second HR of the season, scoring DaShawnKeirsey Jr. and Byron Buxton to bring their run total to eight. The 30-year-old has just three hits on the season, but they're all of the extra-base variety (two homers, one double). Bader has oddly been better against right-handed pitchers in his career, and that's stayed true in 2025. All three of the New York native's hits have come off righties thus far, while he's 0-for-4 against lefties.

New York Mets infielder Brett Baty is on the bench for Tuesday's contest in Miami against the Marlins at loanDepot Park. Luisangel Acuna will make the start at the keystone and will hit eighth against right-hander Sandy Alcantara. Baty did not play on Opening Day last Thursday against a left-hander but then made three straight starts against righties, going 1-for-9 with a double and three strikeouts at second base. Acuna made the start at shortstop on Monday night with Francisco Lindor out for the birth of his son, but he'll slide back to second on Tuesday. On most days moving forward with Jeff McNeill (oblique) on the injured list to start the season, Baty will be on the strong side of a platoon at second for the Mets against right-handed pitching. Acuna, the younger brother of Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr., has just one hit and a stolen base in his first nine plate appearances in 2025 over four games.
