Ronny Mauricio Moving Rehab To Double-A On Friday

New York Mets infield prospect Ronny Mauricio (knee) continues to rehab from a torn ACL in his right knee after having arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 2 of last year to remove scar tissue from his original operation. Mauricio played in his fifth minor-league rehab game with Single-A St. Lucie on Tuesday and will move his rehab assignment to Double-A Binghamton on Friday. The 24-year-old was put on the 10-day injured list on March 27 to begin the season. He missed all of last year with the injury, but barring a setback on his rehab assignment, Mauricio is expected to make his 2025 debut in the first half of the season. He has intriguing long-term upside for those in dynasty/keeper leagues, but with a crowded big-league infield, don't be surprised to see Mauricio sent back to the minors when he finishes his rehab assignment.

Francisco Alvarez, Mark Vientos Sitting On Wednesday

New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez and third baseman Mark Vientos are taking a seat on Wednesday when they play the final game of a three-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Alvarez has been in the starting nine in each of the past three contests. During this stretch, the backstop has posted a strong .444/.545/.444 slash line with one RBI. Vientos has been swinging a hot bat over his last five games, holding a .316/.381/.316 line and will be given a typical day off. Fantasy managers should expect both Alvarez and Vientos to return to the starting nine on Friday when they begin a series against the Chicago Cubs. This afternoon, Luis Torrens and Brett Baty will be behind the dish and cover the hot corner, respectively. The Mets are worth a look in DFS facing Arizona right-hander Merrill Kelly.

Harrison Bader Out On Tuesday Due To Illness

Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader (illness) was scratched from the starting nine on Tuesday due to an illness. Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reported that it is possible Bader is deployed off the bench. Instead, Willi Castro will get the starting nod in left field and bat in the nine-hole. Bader is currently riding an impressive eight-game hitting streak. During this stretch, Bader has held a .429/.484/.536 slash line with three doubles, two RBI, and one stolen base. Prior to this streak, Bader held a modest .215/.311/.369 slash line over his first 24 games of the campaign. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to Wednesday's contest. This evening, Castro is worth a look in DFS as he will face Baltimore southpaw Cade Povich, who enters this game holding a 5.16 ERA.

Edwin Diaz Notches Save No. 8 In Monday's Win

New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz secured the team's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday, pickingup his eighth save of the season in the process. The first batter reached base on an error, but was caught stealing for the first out, then Diaz coaxed a flyout and a strikeoutto end the game. The31-year-old hit a rough patch earlier this season and has battled through a hip issue, but has allowed just two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out 15 over his last eight appearances. For the season, the 2x All-Star owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 7:22 BB:K over 14 innings pitched, and remains one of the top options at the position for fantasy.
