New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (illness) is back in the Mets lineup on Saturday after not starting the previous two games with a stomach bug. Nimmo will bat in the three-hole for the first time this season, as he has always served as the lead-off man in Queens. The Mets have only won one game out of their past five, so manager Carlos Mendoza could be looking to spark up the offense. As a result, shortstop Francisco Lindor will bat at the top of the order, and first baseman Pete Alonso will bat in the two-hole. Designated hitter J.D. Martinez will slot in the cleanup spot behind Nimmo. DFS players should consider stacking their lineup with Mets this afternoon as they will face southpaw Braxton Garrett, who allowed five earned runs, five hits, and two free passes in his season debut on May 12.

Nimmo was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies due to a stomach bug and clearly is still not feeling well a day later. The 31-year-old should be considered day-to-day. Check back on Saturday to see if he's back in the Mets' lineup. Tyrone Taylor will make another start in left field and will head leadoff against Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Taylor has two hits and two RBI in just three career at-bats against Luzardo. However, Taylor is also hitting just .191 (4-for-21) with no homers and seven strikeouts in his 10 games played in May. Because he's hitting out of the leadoff spot, he'll have slightly more appeal as a DFS sleeper.

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs and a solo home run in Thursday's extra innings victory against the Philadelphia Phillies. Alonso's homer would come off Taijuan Walker in the top of the first inning and was his 10th of the season. Alonso has shown his power this season with 23 RBI to go along with his 10 homers, but he hasn't helped managers in the batting average department at .226 on the season. The upcoming free-agent continues to supply managers with plenty of strong power numbers and even with a low batting average, he offers managers plenty of value. Alonso will look to keep the power stroke going on Friday versus Jesus Luzardo to kick off a three-game series with the Miami Marlins on the road.

New York Mets starting pitcher Jose Quintana picked up a no-decision in Thursday's contest versus the division rival Philadelphia Phillies. The veteran lefty tossed 5 1/3 frames and allowed four hits, two runs, no walks and struck out four on the evening. Quintana is who he is at this point in his career and that is an innings eater. With an ugly 5.21 ERA over his first nine starts, the 35-year-old can be avoided in a tough matchup versus the Cleveland Guardians and should remain on the waiver wire in all formats moving forward.

New York Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said that right-hander Kodai Senga (shoulder) is getting closer to a return and being sent on a minor-league rehab assignment. "We all feel better about it here than we would have 5-6 days ago," Stearns said on Thursday. The front-office executive also said Senga had a good bullpen session recently where the Japanese hurler felt like he made some strides. There's no set date for when Senga will go on a rehab assignment, but that's the next step in his recovery after he took a step back recently in his rehab to deal with some mechanical issues. The 31-year-old looks to have moved past those issues and could be on the cusp of making his 2024 debut, although fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if the Mets want to see him make a handful of minor-league starts first. Senga should be stashed in all fantasy leagues.
