Welcome to the prop bet tracker. As MLB season gets into high gear, another way to get in on the action is to analyze the day’s best prop bets – from strikeouts to home runs, first to five runs to total bases logged.

Each day, we will try to identify a few picks that are ready to explode in the prop market.

Lucas Giolito Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-135, DraftKings)

It can be easy to want to fade the ace for the White Sox staff — he hasn’t been at his best recently, striking out a combined six batters in his last two starts. But fear not — the Orioles are a heavy swing and miss team, striking out 13 times in Thursday’s contest. We project Lucas Giolito for 8.0 strikeouts, and he could smash this easily, as we saw him sparkle with at least 7 strikeouts in four of his last six outings.

Willy Adames to Hit a Home Run (+340, DraftKings)

This bet violates my No. 2 principle — never bet against a guy or gal with a tattoo of a spider on their neck (my first is to never get the Don’t Come line in craps for good juju purposes). But Vladimir Gutierrez of the Cincinnati Reds has really struggled of late — he owns a 5.93 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in the last month. And same-sided bats like Willy Adames have given him fits — righties own a .489 slugging percentage against him in 2021.
