MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang (shoulder) was set to play in a minor-league game on Monday in order to pile up at-bats, and at this time, he's considered full-go for Opening Day on Thursday against the New York Yankees. Turang missed more than a week in spring training with a shoulder injury, but he had two hits in Sunday's Cactus League game and will be ready to go for the start of the regular season later this week. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old's shoulder injury won't allow him to open the year at shortstop -- Joey Ortiz will be there -- but he'll be locked in as Milwaukee's everyday second baseman as long as he doesn't suffer a setback with his shoulder. Although the Platinum Gold Glove winner tailed off offensively late last year, it was still a strong sophomore campaign. There's room for growth, but as of right now, consider him middle-infield depth with good speed and a safe floor.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (calf) will return to the team's lineup on Monday for their spring training finale against the Colorado Rockies. The 24-year-old has been out of action since last Tuesday after experiencing mild calf soreness. Fortunately for him, he only missed a handful of games due to the discomfort. It's good news for the former first-round pick, who is projected to hold down right field for the Brewers again in 2025. Frelick hit just two home runs a season ago in 145 games. However, he's been astounding this spring, garnering an impressive .359/.432/.538 triple-slash with eight RBI, four steals, and two long balls. Known for his hit tool in the minors, if the Gold-Glove-winning outfielder can increase his in-game power, he may significantly impact fantasy in 2025.

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Caleb Durbin has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. Durbin was acquired by the Brewers this offseason in the deal that sent Devin Williams over to the New York Yankees. The Brewers would rather have Durbin and Tyler Black get regular at-bats in the minors than sit on the bench in the big leagues. Both players should get a chance on the Brewers roster at some point during the 2025 season. For now, fantasy managers can ignore them heading into the regular season.

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Tyler Black has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. The 24-year-old is one of the better hitting prospects in the Brewers system. However, he'll head back to the minors for more work after a rough showing during spring training. Black played in 18 games with the Brewers last season, but he didn't do much at the plate. The expectation is that Black will get another chance at the big league level at some point in 2025. For now, Black will head to the minors to begin the regular season.

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (oblique) played catch in camp on Friday and didn't have any discomfort in his oblique, making a late-April return a possibility, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Myers was pulled from his Cactus League start last Saturday due to a left-oblique strain and will be forced to open the 2025 regular season on the injured list. However, the 26-year-old's MRI results delivered good news, and he might not have to wait long before making his season debut before the calendar flips to May. Expect him to begin ramping up his workload before eventually going on a short minor-league rehab assignment in April. The former sixth-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016 was a stabilizing force in Milwaukee's rotation in his rookie year in 2024, going 9-6 with a strong 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 127 K's and 36 walks in 138 innings. A below-average strikeout rate limits his fantasy upside, and regression could be coming.
