Rhys Hoskins Stays Hot, Delivers Combo Meal On Sunday

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins had a big day at the plate on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with a homer and a steal in a 14-1 smashing of the Athletics. Hoskins added two runs and four RBI to round out a dominant overall stat line. It was a much-needed game for the 32-year-old, who was off to a slow start before this one. He's now up to a .262 AVG with six runs, three homers, 12 RBI, and one steal over 56 at-bats. Hoskins has been heating up over the past week, and if he can return to form he should be a solid source of power in fantasy. Now is a good time to grab him and see if he can continue this hot stretch.

Chad Patrick Posts Quality Start In Loss

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Chad Patrick looked fairly sharp on the mound during Saturday's game against the Athletics. Patrick allowed seven hits, but only gave up two earned runs over six innings of work. The right-hander also struck out seven batters along the way which certainly helped his fantasy performance in this one. This start was the deepest Patrick has pitched into a game this season. Despite that, Patrick has been solid with two earned runs or less in all five of his outings. He'll offer some deep league streaming value for his next start against the San Francisco Giants.

Devin Williams Closes Door On Rays

New York Yankees reliever Devin Williams pitched a clean inning on Thursday to earn a save in his team's 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The 30-year-old did not allow a hit or free pass and struck out none. It's Williams' fourth save of the season, as he's now down to an inflated 5.14 ERA and 1.86 WHIP with eight strikeouts in seven innings pitched. Though he's been a little shaky this season, the former second-round pick has pitched three straight hitless innings -- collecting three saves over the Yankees' prior four outings. It's mildly concerning that his strikeout rate has dropped nearly 20 points from a season ago, while his walk rate is elevated. However, Williams hasn't compiled an ERA higher than 2.50 since 2021, so he's likely to turn it around soon.

Brewers Calling Up Caleb Durbin

MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that the Milwaukee Brewers are calling up infield prospect Caleb Durbin from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday in order to try and generate more production from third base at the major-league level. Infielder Oliver Dunn was optioned to Nashville in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old Durbin was acquired from the New York Yankees in the Devin Williams trade in the offseason, and he's considered Milwaukee's No. 21 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. Dunn and Vinny Capra weren't getting it done offensively at third with a combined .429 OPS and .188 on-base percentage. Durbin slashed .278/.316/.482 with two homers, three RBI and three steals in 13 games for Nashville. He has 113 steals in 294 minor-league games and will be a waiver-wire option for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues that are seeking some speed. Durbin will be making his major-league debut.

Rhys Hoskins Launches First Home Run Of The Season

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins broke out in Tuesday' 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers. He went 3-for-4 with a towering solo home run in the second inning, his first of the season. The 440-foot blast opened the scoring, as he later added an RBI single in the seventh to help cap off Tuesday's win. It was a strong showing for Hoskins, who had been off to a slow start at the plate. He is now slashing .229/.345/.313 across 48 at-bats. Hoskins and the Brewers will aim to take the series in Wednesday's finale at home against Detroit.
