Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Houston Astros, but manager Pat Murphy said Frelick's MRI results were encouraging. "It should settle down in a day or two," Murphy said. Frelick injured his left knee and had to leave Sunday's game early against the Chicago Cubs, but it appears he will avoid a trip to the injured list for now. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues will want to check back to see if he's available to play in Game 2 of the series on Tuesday. With Frelick out on Monday, Jake Bauers will start in right field and will bat sixth against Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco. Although Frelick is hitting a strong .297 (35-for-118) in 35 games in 2025, he's lacking in counting stats with only one home run, nine RBI, seven steals and 16 runs scored in 135 plate appearances. He's not a great fantasy contributor.

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames went 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Colorado Rockies. He scored twice and drove in three while striking out twice. The 25-year-old has been heating up in recent days after starting the season off on the slower side. Adames' homers were both solo shots, accounting for San Francisco's first runs of the game. In his next at-bat, he scorched a double to the gap in right-center, driving in his third run. All three of his knocks were hard-hit balls that exceeded 101.5 MPH. After just four extra-base hits through last Tuesday, the veteran shortstop has recorded five over his previous six games. He's also picked up three multi-hit efforts over that span.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) was taken out early during Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Frelick reportedly injured his left knee while taking a swing in the second inning. He remained in the game a little longer before being replaced by Daz Cameron. The expectation is that Cameron will undergo further imaging to determine the severity of the injury. Cameron would likely see increased playing time if this is something that puts Frelick on the injured list.

The New York Mets transferred right-hander Frankie Montas (lat) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. It's merely a procedural move and won't affect Montas' timetable for return. He is not eligible to come off the IL until June. The 32-year-old veteran has been out all season to this point after suffering a high-grade right-lat strain early in spring training. When Montas is eventually ready after embarking on a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment, he should have a starting-rotation spot waiting for him in New York after signing a two-year, $34 million deal last December. The Dominican hurler only threw 1 1/3 innings in 2023 due to injury and was very mediocre with a 4.84 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in his 30 starts with the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers last year, so fantasy managers may want to temper expectations when he returns.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is getting the day off for Thursday's series finale in Chicago against the hosting White Sox. Catcher William Contreras will get a day off his feet and serve as the designated hitter while batting cleanup, and Eric Haase will do the catching and hit ninth against White Sox right-hander Sean Burke. Coming off offseason back surgery, Yelich has struggled at the plate so far in 2025, batting .220/.333/.385 but he does have five home runs, 23 RBI, 14 runs scored and six stolen bases in his 109 at-bats. He's gone hitless in his last two outings and has six hits in his last 29 plate appearances with four RBI, a steal and a run scored in his last six games. While Yelich's average is down compared to what we've come to expect of him, he's still producing. Expect him back in action for Friday's series opener versus the division-rival Chicago Cubs.
