Tommy Edman to Take Tuesday Off

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team wanted to stay away from having Tommy Edman play center field on back-to-back days while being mindful of his ankle, which is why he started at second base with Hyeseong Kim in center field in Monday's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Edman will take the day off in Game 2 of the series at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday. It means that Andy Pages will likely be back in center on Tuesday, with Kim starting at the keystone. The Dodgers are easing Edman back onto the field after he missed over two weeks with a right-ankle injury. The 30-year-old switch-hitter has gone 1-for-8 with an RBI in two games since returning from the injured list on Sunday. Fantasy managers are hoping that Edman will get going once he gets back to a regular schedule. He's currently slashing .244/.285/.496 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 19 RBI and two steals in 119 at-bats.

Ryan Brasier Logs Back-To-Back Rehab Outings

Chicago Cubs right-handed reliever Ryan Brasier (groin) tossed a shutout inning with Triple-A Iowa in a minor-league rehab appearance on Saturday in his fifth rehab outing, including back-to-back appearances in his most recent games, according to MLB.com. Brasier began his rehab assignment with Iowa on May 7 and should be getting close to being activated from the 10-day injured list. The 37-year-old veteran appeared in the team's March 18 season-opening series in Japan against the Los Angeles Dodgers but then landed on the IL before the domestic home opener at the end of March with a strained left groin. Barring a setback with his balky groin, he should be able to return to the Cubs' bullpen by late May or early June. Given Chicago's shaky 'pen this year, there's a chance Brasier could work his way into a high-leverage relief role when he's back.

Mookie Betts Bashes Two Taters on Monday Night

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop/outfielder Mookie Betts had a pair of solo home runs on Monday night, but his production wasn't enough against Arizona as the Dodgers dropped their fourth straight game. Betts hit solo home runs in the fourth inning and the sixth inning off Brandon Pfaadt, and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Betts is batting .263 on the season and now has eight home runs to go with five stolen bases and a .350 wOBA in his 45 games. This was his second multi-homer game of the season, and he has a history of producing big games like this when he's in the groove. After going just 3-for-20 with two stolen bases last week against the Athletics and Angels, Monday's performance is a good sign that he could be starting to turn things around.

Hyeseong Kim Expected to Start 3.5 Games Per Week

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that rookie infielder Hyeseong Kim will continue to make starts with the team as the Dodgers look to get some rest for Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernandez and Michael Conforto. Roberts estimated that Kim will average 3.5 starts per week. Kim is making the start in center field and is hitting ninth in Monday's series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Brandon Pfaadt as L.A. gives Andy Pages a day off. In addition to playing solid defense, the 26-year-old South Korean rookie has been great at the plate in his first 14 MLB games, going 14-for-31 (.452) with a double, home run, five RBI, nine runs scored, three steals, two walks and five strikeouts, so he'll stick in the majors instead of going back to the minors. Kim isn't going to provide much power for fantasy managers, but he'll play enough to warrant a roster spot in deep-mixed leagues for now.

Andy Pages Sitting in Series Opener Against Arizona

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages will start on the bench for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium with Teoscar Hernandez (groin) returning from the 10-day injured list. Hyeseong Kim will make the start in center field and bat ninth against Arizona right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. This will be Pages' first game off in a month, and he should continue to see regular playing time despite Hernandez's return. The 24-year-old Cuban has been great for the Dodgers and fantasy managers so far in 2025, hitting .280/.333/.494 with an .827 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI, 23 runs scored and five stolen bases in 164 at-bats. Pages has hit .265 (18-for-68) in the month of May, including three home runs in his last five games. Kim has gone 14-for-31 (.452) in his first 14 MLB games, but he'll have minimal DFS upside on Monday in the nine-hole.
