Walker Buehler Ejected in Tuesday's Return

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Walker Buehler (shoulder) only made it 2 1/3 innings in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Mets. Buehler got tossed in the top of the third inning for arguing a strike with the home-plate umpire. He allowed no hits and two walks with four strikeouts on 52 pitches. He also hit two batters. The 30-year-old was making his return from the 15-day injured list, so fantasy managers may not have started him for what ended up being an abbreviated outing. Buehler has had a solid season overall, going 4-1 with a 4.00 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, and an 8.25 K/9 rate in seven starts and 36 IP. His next scheduled start will be against a slumping Orioles lineup.

Hyeseong Kim Making Another Start for Dodgers on Tuesday

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie infielder Hyeseong Kim is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Ryne Nelson, starting at second base and batting ninth. Even though both Teoscar Hernandez and Tommy Edman are back from the injured list, manager Dave Roberts said that Kim is expected to make around 3.5 starts per week between the infield and outfield as a super-utility player. The 26-year-old could also start to see more time at the expense of the struggling Michael Conforto. The 26-year-old South Korean native has handled himself nicely in his first 15 big-league games, going 14-for-35 (.400) with a homer, five RBI, three steals, nine runs, two walks and six strikeouts. While he doesn't have much power, Kim can be useful in deeper fantasy leagues in a utility spot if he continues to see semi-regular playing time in L.A.

Teoscar Hernandez Retreats to the Bench

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the series against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. Andy Pages is in right field and batting sixth, while Enrique Hernandez is starting in center field and hitting eighth against D-backs right-hander Ryne Nelson. Hernandez made his return from the injured list in Monday's loss to the Snakes and went 0-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, but he'll take a seat as the Dodgers ease him back into the fold. Fantasy managers will want to get the 32-year-old slugger back in their lineups when he returns on Wednesday. Pages has been a major contributor on offense for the Blue so far in 2025, but he's hitless in seven career at-bats versus Nelson. Hernandez continues to sell out for power, hitting just .229 (22-for-96) but with seven home runs in 2025.

Walker Buehler Reinstated and Starting on Tuesday

The Boston Red Sox announced on Tuesday that they reinstated right-hander Walker Buehler (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-hander Nick Burdi to Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move. Buehler will return to the mound on Tuesday at Fenway Park to face the visiting New York Mets, an offense that ranks ninth in baseball with a .741 OPS. The 30-year-old veteran skipped a minor-league rehab assignment, so this will be his first start since April 26. He's been pretty solid for the BoSox in his first six starts of 2025, going 4-1 with a 4.28 ERA (4.29 FIP) and 1.22 WHIP with 29 strikeouts and nine walks in 33 2/3 innings. However, given the fact that he skipped a rehab assignment and that he's going against one of the better lineups in baseball, fantasy managers may want to keep him benched for his first start off the IL.

Gavin Lux on Bench Versus Pirates

Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Gavin Lux will retreat to the bench for Tuesday's game against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates with a left-hander on the mound. Catcher Tyler Stephenson is the designated hitter and will bat sixth, while Jose Trevino is doing the catching and hitting seventh against Pirates southpaw Bailey Falter. Lux has gone hitless in three career at-bats against Falter and has gone 3-for-27 (.111) with just one RBI on the season against lefties. The former Dodger has hit a strong .294 (45-for-153) in his first season in Cincy, but it has come with just one long ball and one stolen base. Stephenson will be an intriguing DFS pick at catcher on Tuesday given his .533 career average against Falter in 15 at-bats with two home runs and five RBI. Trevino has gone hitless against Falter in just two career at-bats.
