Joe Ryan OVER 6.5 K

Joe Ryan enters tonight’s start with a rock solid 3.44 ERA. 3.70 xFIP and a 105:15 K:BB over 96.2 innings. He was rocked in his last start (six earned runs on nine hits over three innings), but that outing came against the red hot Atlanta Braves. Ryan coughed up five homers against Atlanta, but he’s only allowed 13 over his 15 stats this season.
Ryan’s in a great spot to bounce back as Kansas City checks in with the second lowest team wOBA (.294) and OPS (.670). The Royals have the sixth-highest K-Rate in baseball (24.4%) and third highest in SwStr (12.6%).
On top of the solid matchup, Ryan has a 2.70 ERA at home and opponents are only slashing .185/.207/.266 with a .207 wOBA against him over 46.2 innings. Ryan tossed a complete game shutout against the Boston Red Sox in his last start in Minnesota and he fanned nine batters.
