Aaron Nola to Record a Win
(-115, DraftKings Sportsbook)
Aaron Nola has had a couple of rough starts in a row, but he’s in a good spot at home against the Washington Nationals. Nola checks in with a 3.75 ERA at Citizens Bank Park, compared to a 5.15 mark on the road. Opponents are slashing .210/.259/.381 with a .276 wOBA against Nola in Philly, compared to .253/.294/.476 with a .323 wOBA on the road. He hasn’t pitched against the Nationals this season, but they still have equally as bad of a lineup as they did in 2022. In 23.2 innings against Washington last season, Nola only allowed four runs. Over the last month of the season, the Nationals rank in the bottom 12 in wOBA, wRC+, ISO, AVG and OPS.
On top of all that, the Phillies are in a great position to give Nola some run support as they’ll see pitches from Patrick Corbin. The Nationals’ pitcher has coughed up 24 home runs on the season, including seven over a current four-game streak. He has a 5.03 ERA and he’s allowed 161 hits in 132.1 innings. His ERA on the road is 5.31, and he enters with a career low 8.8% SwStr%, 6.05 K/9 and a career-high 81% contact rate.
