Always itching for action, Brad Evans scours the ‘books for a seducing wager whether NFL, NBA, MLB, Chinese ping pong, whatever. Come back daily to see where he’s blowing his bankroll. Fade or follow? That, of course, is entirely up to you.

MLB Prop Bet of the Day

Trent Grisham OVER .5 runs at Pittsburgh (-149, BetMGM

(NOTE: With Grisham out of the lineup, Jake Cronenworth, slotted in the leadoff spot, to score a run at -128 (1.28 risk) is the replacement.)

Since the sweet-stroking lefty’s return to the leadoff spot on April 9, he’s collected a run and a hit in each of three games logged, including a pair of long balls. Most projection services have Grisham eventually leveling off into the .240-.250 batting average range with an on-base percentage approaching .350. Still, tailing his early sizzling streak is a wise proposition. His high walks yield and 20-homer power offer encouragement to make a confident wager. So does the matchup. Journeyman Trevor Cahill is on the bump for the Buccos, a soft-tossing righty who served up grapefruits to Cincinnati in his opening turn (4 IP, 7 ER, 9 H, 2 BB, 4 K). In Game 1 of the series, expect Grisham to earn all the pierogies at PNC.
