What is JockMKT?

JockMKT is a fantastic new fantasy football platform that combines the financial market and sports. Bidding on a player as an IPO and getting paid out where they finish on the day. Example: “If fifth place overall is worth $20, and Tom Brady finishes with the fifth-most points, then every user holding Tom Brady receives $20 per share.” It is a fun way to try and buy low on top targets that week who have big time upside and can pay off their IPO price. 

How does bidding work?

Bidding is very similar to Ebay. You enter a max bid and JockMKT will only use your max bid on players if needed. If no one competes you will get the player at their initial offering.

Five Players to Bid on in Week 17

David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears

Bid until top 25

Andy Dalton will start for the Bears, which could mean increased pass game usage in this one for David Montgomery. With Dalton or Nick Foles (non-mobile QBs) under center, Montgomery is averaging 9 targets per game, well up from his 6.5 with Justin Fields under center. Montgomery is a workhorse back, seeing 21 of the team’s 24 rush attempts last week, including every single one (7) of the red-zone rush attempts and all three red-zone targets. This is a dream matchup against the pitiful New York Giants, who allow 20 fantasy points per game to backs.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Bid until top 30

The days of Ezekiel Elliott being a top NFL running back are likely over, but the days of Elliott being relevant are not. Last week was the healthiest Elliott has been all season, and he hit his top on-field speed in over 10 weeks against Washington. Now he takes on a Cardinals defense that has been dreadful trying to stop the run. The Cardinals have allowed the fourth-highest yards after contact per game and the league’s second-highest gash rate. Our offensive efficiency tool has the Cowboys projected for the most open field yards per carry on the entire slate. Zeke could have a monster day on the ground. 

Jaylen Waddle, WR, Miami Dolphins

Bid until top 30

Nine or more targets in four straight games, eight or more receptions in four straight games — Jaylen Waddle is a target hog and the top option in Miami’s passing game. Even with DeVante Parker in the lineup, Waddle is dominating target share, seeing 27.2% of the targets. His volume makes him a target at his projected price range, and I am willing to bid him all the way to top 30.

Odell Beckham, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Bid until top 40

Yes, Cooper Kupp is the top projected player on the slate, but the Ravens defense has been so bad there is plenty to go around. In fact, the Ravens defense has completely sold out to stop opponents’ top receivers the last three weeks, leading to massive games for opponents’ WR2s. Tee Higgins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have outscored their counterparts each of the last two weeks, both seeing a massive increase in usage. If that trend continues, Odell Beckham could be in for a massive day.

Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bid until top 40

Running backs against the Jets. This continues to be a thing week in and week out, and with Leonard Fournette out in this one, Ronald Jones should be fed. After seeing 20 carries last week, he gets to take on a Jets defense in a dream matchup. The Jets have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards (1,772), most rushing touchdowns (22), and most fantasy points per game to running backs (27.4). While Jones’ passing-game role is questionable, as 13-point favorites, the gamescript should be perfect for him to be fed.
