It’s time to add a little more context when suggesting my “Dynasty Moves to Make.” Overall, the format will stay the same. But I’ll also indicate the type of team that should be looking to buy or sell a player (for example: borderline playoff team, championship contender, rebuilding/playing for next year, etc.).
As a reminder, buying doesn’t mean getting a player for Jalin Hyatt and a Happy Meal. Selling doesn’t mean you must rid your rosters of said player for 10 cents on the dollar. When players are improperly valued, take advantage.
Dynasty Moves to Make: Buys
James Conner, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Nobody says, “My favorite fast-food restaurant is Wendy’s.” You don’t drive out of your way to get to Wendy’s. But every time you eat there, you realize, “This is good. I should come here more.” James Conner is Wendy’s. Among running backs with at least 75 carries, Conner leads the league in avoided tackle percentage, ranks inside the top five in yards after contact and has the second-most explosive runs, just one behind the 22 of Saquon Barkley. A few problematic remaining matchups and a Week 11 bye should help keep his price tag reasonable. But his fantasy playoff schedule is as mouth-watering as Wendy’s spicy chicken nuggets (with sweet and sour sauce, of course).
First round? New England (third-best DVOA-APA matchup). Second round? Carolina (best DVOA-APA matchup). Championship? An average matchup against the Rams. Conner’s having a borderline RB1 season and is valued more like Burger King a middling RB2.
Players I’d be willing to trade for Conner 1 for 1: Travis Etienne Jr., Jaylen Wright, Khalil Shakir
Trade for Conner if: You’re a contender, even a borderline playoff team.
