Training Camp Roundup (7/29)

Chase Brown RB1?

The drumbeat for Chase Brown serving as Cincinnati’s RB1 gets louder each day.

Zack Moss was projected as the Bengals lead RB, but Brown has continued to shine in training camp. Brown was a fifth-round pick from Illinois in last year’s draft but brings elite speed and burst with a 1,600-yard season on his resume with the Illini. The lead running back position in this explosive Cincinnati offense is a coveted position in fantasy football.

Crowded Indianapolis Receiving Room

There is much uncertainty in the Indianapolis passing attack, with Michael Pittman, AD Mitchell, Josh Down and Alec Pierce all expecting to contribute on a weekly basis. While Pittman is the incumbent WR1, it was Downs and the rookie Mitchell flashing in practice over the weekend. Per FTN Fantasy’s StatsHub, Pittman’s production was suppressed in the four games with Anthony Richardson under center, leaving the door open for another legitimate receiving option to emerge.

Malik Nabers Dominating

It’s difficult to find a more impressive player during the first week of training camp than the Giants Malik Nabers.

The sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has been a human highlight film on a daily basis, increasing confidence in this New York offensive attack, despite concerns about Daniel Jones at quarterback. This is quite an endorsement from longtime Giants beat reporter Art Stapleton.

Ladd McConkey WR1

Rookie wideout Ladd McConkey is making a claim for the Chargers top receiving option.

While the Chargers are projected to be a run-heavy offense, which has caused their receiving option to fall to favorable ADPs. McConkey currently sits as WR43 on our FTN UnderdogFantasy ADP Tool, and he is actually the highest-drafted Chargers wideout. If McConkey continues to impress, he will likely smash that ADP value and easily finish as an overall WR3 or better.
