WNBA Best Bets (Wednesday 9/25)

We have two Wednesday night playoff games in the WNBA. The Connecticut Sun play host to Caitlin Clark and the Fever as they look to close out the series, while the Lynx will look to move past the Phoenix Mercury and put an end to their season as well as Diana Taurasi’s career.

Let’s go over our best bet from this two-game slate.

Caitlin Clark 20+ Points

(-120, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Any time the Fever play, the world wants a Caitlin Clark play. Often, her markets are the sharpest-priced markets in the WNBA. Other times, she’s overpriced, as the general public doesn’t want to play Clark unders and will still see action regardless. Wednesday, I find Clark’s points to be pretty underpriced. While the Rookie of the Year only averaged 19.2 points during the regular season — and only managed 11 in Game 1 of this series — Clark did average 24.2 points per game from the resumption of the All-Star break through the second-to-last game of the season.

This is undoubtedly a tough matchup, as Dijonai Carrington is one of the best (if not the best) on-ball defenders in the WNBA. With the volume Clark generates, however, and her track record of pretty historic performances in big game atmospheres, I’m going to buy low on the rookie sensation Wednesday in a must-win game.
