All eyes will be on the late matchup between the Mercury and Liberty, so we’ll focus there for our action!

New York Liberty at Phoenix Mercury

The New York Liberty have hit the ground running to start this season. They come into tonight’s game riding an eight-game win streak and are tied with the Sun for the most wins in the WNBA this season (12). Jonquel Jones has been magnificent for the Liberty on this win streak. She’s averaging 19.25 PPG and 9.25 RPG over the last eight. An essential addition to the former MVP’s game this season is the ability to hit the three ball consistently. Jones is shooting 42.6% from behind the arc this year, her best percentage since 2018.

As we approach the midway point of the year, Jonquel has also posted a career-best 58.7% field goal percentage, and her 1.9 made threes per game is a career-high mark as well. While the Mercury defense has improved with the return of Brittney Griner, they are still allowing the second-most opponent three-point attempts per game and the ninth-worst opponent three-point percentage at 34.4%. Over the last three games, Jones is averaging 28.3 PPG and 3.6 made 3PT. Tonight, the value is too good not to back the former MVP to keep her high level of play going in a premier matchup.
