We have made it through the first round of group stage games at the 2022 World Cup and are now seeing teams play their second matches. Situations are getting more intense and some teams are in desperate need of results. We have another full slate of four games Saturday that I will be breaking down for you all in a game-by-game fashion below.

Game 1: Tunisia vs. Australia

Tunisia and Australia face off in a must-win match if either team hopes to qualify for the knockout round. Tunisia worked a good 0-0 draw in their first game against Denmark. They did what they do best and defended well but were unable to get much going in the attack. They could have some better luck against a weaker Australian side.

Australia got an early goal earlier in the week against France to go up 1-0 but ended up getting dominated after that and lost 4-1. If they can’t find a way to get at least one point in this game, their World Cup hopes will be gone. Tunisia is favored on the money line at +125 at BetRivers and the over/under is 2.25.

Game 2 Poland vs. Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia pulled off one of the greatest upsets in World Cup group stage history with a 2-1 victory over Argentina. It has been the most shocking result of the tournament so far and put the Saudis in a decent position to advance if they can pick up some points in their next two games. Saturday, they take on Poland, who tied Mexico in their first game 0-0. They struggled big time to hold possession or create anything going forward up the pitch. They should be able to control more possession in this game where they will need a result. Poland should win this game and are -132 on BetRivers. The goal total over/under is 2.25.

Game 3 France vs. Denmark

Denmark put themselves in a difficult position by only coming away from the Tunisia game with one point. If they can’t find a way to come away from this match with a positive result, they will have a must-win game in their final match against Australia. France, on the other hand, can get themselves into the knockout round with a win.

This is a matchup of two teams that can make a deep run in this tournament, so it will be a popular one to target for DFS purposes. It is also the game with the highest goal total over/under on the slate at 2.5. France is a money line favorite at -130 on BetRivers.

Game 4 Argentina vs. Mexico

Argentina suffered a 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia in their first match. They controlled most parts of the game and had a few goals called off with VAR decisions. They are still one of the most talented teams in the competition, and I think their loss will light a fire under them going forward. They are the biggest favorites on the slate at -190 on FanDuel.

They face Mexico in their second game who is coming off a 0-0 draw to Poland. Argentina will likely control possession stats in this game, and I don’t think Mexico has the attacking horses to challenge Argentina on the break. The over/under is 2.5.

Argentina vs. Mexico Bets

Argentina -1.5, +155, BetRivers
