Welcome back to another World Cup breakdown. Monday’s slate will mark the end of the second round of group stage games with Groups G and H in action.
Check out my betting breakdown of the slate below.
Game 1 Cameroon vs. Serbia
Serbia played their first game against the favorites to win the entire tournament in Brazil. Brazil dominated the game as expected and won 2-0 from a Richarlison brace. Serbia were not able to put any shots on target and only controlled 41% possession. That will likely change in this game as Serbia will look to be on the front foot. Serbia are -130 on FanDuel in this game with the goal total over/under at 2.25.
Cameroon vs. Serbia Bets
- Serbia moneyline,-130, FanDuel)
Game 2 South Korea vs. Ghana
Ghana lost 3-2 to Portugal in their first game in Qatar. They took advantage of the opportunities they were given but were not strong enough defensively to keep Portugal from scoring three to win the game. As mentioned in my breakdown of the team before the tournament, defense is Ghana’s weakness. They will need to find a way to be stronger in their defensive third this match or else an aggressive South Korean attack will take advantage. South Korea is a short money line favorite at +150 on FanDuel with an over/under of just 2.0.
South Korea vs. Ghana Bets
- South Korea moneyline (+150, FanDuel)
Game 3 Brazil vs. Switzerland
Both teams pulled off important wins in their first matchup of the World Cup. Brazil looked good in their 2-0 win against a good Serbian team. Not everything went well in this game for Brazil, however, because they lost their star Neymar for the remainder of the group stage. They controlled a lot of the possession and were strong on defense. They are -220 on the moneyline on FanDuel and will likely control this game as well.
Brazil vs. Switzerland Bets
- Both Teams To Score (-122, FanDuel)
