Friday, we have an action-packed nine-game NBA slate. I’m expecting teams to raise their level of play now that we’re past the All-Star break. Below, I’ll break down my favorite bet on the slate.

De’Andre Hunter Over 12.5 Points

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Hunter has only covered this number in one out of three games since being traded to the Cavaliers, but Friday’s matchup against the Knicks puts him in a perfect spot to right the ship. Hunter has excelled in head-to-head meetings against the Knicks throughout his career and has scored 13 or more points in seven of the last eight meetings. He’s scored 13 or more points in 30 out of 40 games this season, averaging 18.5 PPG.

The Knicks have struggled to contain opposing small forwards all season. They allow the seventh-most points per game to the position (22.3). Hunter is averaging 25 minutes per game with the Cavaliers and attempting 10 shots per contest. Opposing small forwards who have taken 10 or more field goal attempts against the Knicks have scored 13 or more points in seven of the last 10 games, averaging 17.2 PPG.
