Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk (toe) will not be in action on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets. The team has downgraded Monk's status from questionable to out, as the 27-year-old needs more time to recover from a toe sprain. Keon Ellis and Markelle Fultz are potential candidates to replace Monk in the starting lineup on Wednesday. At the same time, Zach LaVine may have a more active role in the backcourt.

Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk (toe) has been given a questionable designation ahead of Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets. The 27-year-old injured his toe during Monday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. After a visit to the locker room, Monk managed to return and complete the game, but he might miss additional time on Wednesday. Markelle Fultz could start in place of Monk, while Keon Ellis may also see increased playing time if Monk is unable to play on Wednesday. Neither player provides exceptional fantasy production, although Ellis is valuable for his defensive numbers. He has averaged 1.4 blocks and 1.6 steals since the All-Star break.

Sacramento Kings guard/forward Malik Monk (groin) will likely return to the lineup on Thursday against Houston, as the team lists him as probable for the contest. Monk missed Tuesday's action against Milwaukee due to groin soreness. Keon Ellis took over his spot in the starting lineup and had a fine night with 18 points. He will lose a significant amount of fantasy value by returning to the bench. Monk has provided 18.6 points with 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists since being promoted to the first unit. One of his first games in the new role was against the Rockets, and Monk had a fun night in a 120-111 win with 17 points and a career-high 12 assists.
