This week’s PGA Championship was dealt a big curveball Friday morning when world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who was tied for 12th at -4 after the first round, was arrested on his way into Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville.
According to reporting at the scene, Scheffler tried to drive past police who were trying to stop him, and he was ultimately charged with:
Scheffler was booked by the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections and released Friday morning. As of this writing, he is reportedly en route to Valhalla and scheduled to tee off for the second round at 10:08 a.m. ET.
