The Core and More: PGA DFS Notes for the 2025 Cognizant Classic

Share

Taking our talents to PGA National this week, we are set for the Cognizant Classic, which kicks off the Florida swing. When heading to Florida, we know to prepare for lots of water balls, which means lots of big numbers.

Just by the law of averages, some of the big numbers will come from the popular DFS plays. Which brings me to a quote by Mark Twain, “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” Do you find yourself clicking on a lot of chalk? Make sure you reflect on those clicks and determine if you really think the general consensus is worth following or determine if you can find a pivot with similar performance expectations without all the hoopla.

Let’s jump right in and talk about some of my favorite DFS plays for the 2025 Cognizant Classic.

Core Target

Lucas Glover

He doesn’t have the power we’d hope to see, but he brings a lot of course experience (14 starts) and is driving it on a rope right now. He’s gained off the tee in five straight events to start the year. The last time he pulled that off was in 2023. He missed the cut in his sixth event before winning back-to-back events at the Wyndham and St. Jude Championship. He’s also gained with the putter in five of his last six starts. He’s just $7,800 this week and trending so well right now without even leaning on his biggest strength, which is his iron play.
