Round 4 Showdown strategy for the PGA Championship

Share

Final round showdowns in golf DFS always get a little trickier with the finishing points now included. That should go the same for this weekend’s PGA Championship. There are a lot of young golfers near the top of the leaderboard and it will be interesting to see how the react to the pressure of having a major championship victory at their fingertips.

We continued to see OTT and putting being a common theme among the golfers vying for the trophy. Putting is something we talk at length about being extremely hard to predict so instead you could simply aim to get historically good putters into a lineup over others, however distance is still what I will be chasing.

Below are some of the golfers I will be targeting in Sunday’s final round:

Justin Thomas is always a favorite in showdown with his ability to go as low as anybody on tour, and often. He was racking up the birdies today as well before some stumbles, but it’s all about the birdies in showdown. I find Dustin Johnson hard to fade with his position on the leaderboard and his overall abilities. He’s had some demons in majors but having one under his belt already should be helpful. Scottie Scheffler is another golfer from the top I like a lot. The pressure if unknown, however I like what I have seen all week and I think he’s been underpriced for much of the restart due to his lack of consistency; the talent is all there, though.

Lastly, I’ll just be trying to fill out the bottom of my lineups with Casey, Ancer, Scott. With, their talents and abilities I feel comfortable and Casey still has a shot at taking this down. There could be a lot of shuffling at the top, so I won’t be focusing solely on guys near the top to chase finish points.
