The Florida Swing! Gone are the long mornings waiting for the golf to start. We can now turn on PGA Tour Live the moment our eyes open for the day. And that, my friends, is a wonderful thing.
It’s great for DFS too, as this golf course is one of the best on Tour and has led us to pretty consistently great results. Part of it is a strong course fit model, but it’s also partially that the course fit model deviates from the industry’s expectations.
Course Fit: The 2025 Cognizant Classic

Distance and short game have been a common combo of late, which I always like, but this one’s especially intriguing because the industry believes accuracy and approach play are the key components. As I mentioned on Pro v Pro, this is also an event where I believe having a strong weak link is particularly helpful. Whatever your weakness, PGA National can expose it.
Hot Takes for the 2025 Cognizant Classic
1. Davis Thompson is the best play on the slate
Davis Thompson has been one of the best drivers in the world this year, surging in both distance and accuracy. He also has the single best short game in this field by our estimates (and by a fairly wide margin). That’s a lethal combination on this course and it comes right after his best approach week of the season at The Genesis.
Essentially, Thompson is in that rare category of “guy who projects extremely well” and “guy who might already be better than we realize.” I’m all aboard the Thompson train this week.
