Sports betting is taking over the country as it goes online in more and more states as the months go by. With so much interest in sports betting, it’s important to get back to the basics and make sure you are following the correct and efficient steps to set yourself up for not only long-term success, but enjoyment as well.

How to Download a Sports Betting App

While many apps can be exclusive to one of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, sports betting apps are widely available on both.

Let’s use BetMGM as an example, a sportsbook that most recently went online in New York

BetMGM for iPhone

The first step in downloading any app for your iPhone is making sure you are in the correct location, the App Store.

From there, you can simply search “BetMGM”, as shown below:

You should see the App Store populate with a few things:

  • The application (BetMGM Sportsbook)
  • The category of the app
  • The rating
  • The developer details

While all of that is useful and actionable information, that’s not why you’re here. To download, you should see a “GET” button where you see the “OPEN” button on the above image.

Simply clicking “GET” will initiate the download for the app on your phone.

Once downloaded, open the app and create an account for the first time. For BetMGM specifically, since it is our example, follow the below steps:

BetMGM for Android

Similar to downloading any sportsbook app (BetMGM in this example), the process only takes a few seconds on an Android phone.

To do so, follow the below steps:

Once downloaded, you are free to take advantage of the sign-up promos and odds boosts that you will see on a near-daily basis. If you’re looking for some of the best sign-up bonuses for any sportsbook once you download the app, our Best Sportsbook Promos page has you covered.
