There’s plenty of NHL action Tuesday, with seven games on the schedule. Below you’ll see my favorite picks for today’s slate using the Tipico Sportsbook. If you’re looking for more bets this season, check out the FTN Bet Tracker

Arizona Coyotes +180 @ Minnesota Wild -220 — O/U 5.5

The Minnesota Wild are one of a few teams who are heavy favorites Tuesday evening. They are also one of the hottest teams in the NHL as they’ll put their four-game winning streak on the line as they looked to knock off the Arizona Coyotes for the third straight game. Beating any time three times in a row can be challenging but the Wild have made it look pretty easy so far outscoring them 8-1 in the two wins. Minnesota has won 11 of its last 14 games and they’ve picked up at least one point in 13 of their past 17 contests. It’s hard to lay the juice on the money line at -220 but you can get them on the puck line (-1.5) at +125. They enter tonight’s matchup second in goals at 5v5 per 60 minutes (3.09), and Arizona ranks 29th (1.98).

The under 5.5 is certainly in play as the Wild have only allowed four goals during their four-game winning streak and two of those games came against the high-powered Vegas Golden Knights. According to Natural Stat Trick, Minnesota has surrendered the third-fewest high-danger chances, fifth-fewest scoring chances, and the eighth-fewest goals at 5v5 per 60 minutes. They rank second in high-danger chances created at 5v5.

Prediction: 4-1, Minnesota
Best bet: MIN -1.5
Total: Under 5.5

Buffalo Sabres +130 @ New Jersey Devils -160 — O/U 5.5

Something has to give between the Sabres and the Devils, as both teams come in riding losing streaks. The Sabres have lost 11 straight games and haven’t scored a goal in 150 minutes. They’ve been held to two or fewer goals in nine of those 11 losses and they’ve been shut out four times.

Meanwhile, the Devils have lost 11 straight games at Prudential Center and have been held to two or fewer goals in nine of those games. New Jersey has lost four straight and 12 of their past 14 games overall. They’ve also lost three of five to the Sabres, but they have a bit more going for them than Buffalo at the moment. The Sabres will yet again be without Jack Eichel so the goals may be hard to come by. Either way, instead of predicting which bad hockey team will find a way to end their slump (New Jersey), let’s put our money down on the total instead. The Sabres rank dead last in GF/60 (1.48) at 5v5 and the Devils rank 22nd (2.22).

Prediction: 3-1, New Jersey
Best bet: Under 5.5

Others to consider: Carolina -1.5; Washington ML; ANH @ COL U 5.5
