There’s plenty of NHL action Tuesday, with nine games on the schedule. Below you’ll see my favorite picks for the slate using the Tipico Sportsbook. If you’re looking for more bets this season, check out the FTN Bet Tracker

New York Rangers +130 @ Pittsburgh Penguins -160 — O/U 6.5

The New York Rangers take on the Pittsburgh Penguins for the sixth time this season with puck drop set for 7 p.m. ET. The Penguins took care of the Rangers pretty easily Sunday by a score of 5-1 and have taken four of the five meetings this season. Pittsburgh has outscored New York 18-13 in the series so far; they’ve held New York to three or fewer goals in four of the five games.

The Penguins started the season with six losses over their first 11 games, but they’ve racked up nine wins over their past 13 since hiring Ron Hextall and Brian Burke in the front office. They’ve only allowed more than three goals in two of those 11 games, both losses.

The Rangers have turned their game around as well as they enter with six wins of their past nine games, but they have plenty of question marks on offense. They’re still without their leading scoring from last season in Artemi Panarin and they’ve only received three goals from Mika Zibanejad. Their last three wins happened to come against the New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres.

Prediction: 5-2, Pittsburgh
Best bet: Over 6.5

Florida Panthers -140 @ Columbus Blue Jackets +115 — O/U 5.5

The Blue Jackets and Panthers face off for the third time this season with puck drop set for 8 p.m. ET. They split the first two meetings back in January, as both games went to a shootout. Columbus would gladly take a shootout in this game as it would mean they would receive a much-needed point in the standings.

Columbus has lost eight of its last 11 games. The Blue Jackets have scored three or fewer goals in eight of those contests. In fact, they’ve scored one or zero goals in four of their past six games and have been shut out twice, most recently 5-0 Saturday in Dallas.

Florida has allowed a league-low 20.93 scoring chances and 7.47 high-danger chances against at 5v5 per 60 minutes, according to Natural Stat Trick. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets have created a league-low 7.45 high-danger chances and 19.96 scoring chances at 5v5 per hour.

Prediction: 3-1, Florida
Best bet: Under 5.5

Others to consider: Carolina -1.5; Philadelphia and UNDER 5.5; Chicago moneyline
