There are four games scheduled in the NHL for Sunday, including the second outdoor game of the weekend at Lake Tahoe between the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins. The Bruins are the second-biggest favorites on the board according to the Tipico Sportsbook. If you’re looking for more bets this season, check out the FTN Bet Tracker

Philadelphia Flyers +155 @ Boston Bruins -190 — O/U 5.5

The first-place Bruins (10-3-2) faceoff against the second-place Flyers (8-3-3) in the second game at Lake Tahoe. The matchup was moved to 7:30 p.m. ET after Colorado and Vegas had their game Saturday delayed due to poor ice.

The Bruins are the biggest “home” favorites on the board at -190 and for good reason. Boston has allowed the fewest shots, the 10th-fewest scoring chances, and eight-fewest high-danger chances at 5v5 per 60 minutes, according to Natural Stat Trick. As a result, they’ve allowed the fourth-fewest goals per 60 minutes at 5v5 (1.88) and they have the fourth-lowest expected goals allowed rate in the league (1.86).

That’s not exactly what you want to hear if you’re a Flyers fan considering, they’re expected to be without Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny, Jakub Voracek, Scott Laughton and Oskar Lindblom. Philadelphia enters this matchup ranked 27th in scoring chances and high-danger chances created at 5v5. They rank seventh in goals per game (3.43), but they’ll be without five key forwards.

The Flyers managed to score two goals in a 3-2 loss against the New York Rangers Thursday in what was their first game in 11 days. This will be a much tougher task for them as the Bruins have allowed the second-fewest goals per game (2.20). Boston has also won all four meetings against the Flyers this season by a combined score of 17-9. Boston has won five of eight games since David Pastrnak returned to the lineup and they’ve played to the under in four of their past five games.

This is the fourth outdoor game for the Bruins and the fifth for the Flyers. The Bruins edged the Flyers 2-1 at Fenway Park in Boston back on New Year’s Day in 2010. I see a similar showing here between the two teams with Tuukka Rask and Carter Hart scheduled to start this evening. Both goalies are more than capable of keeping this game under the 5.5 total.

Prediction: 3-1, Boston
Best bet: Under 5.5
