The Best NHL Prop Bets

Leon Draisaitl Over 1.5 Points

(+125, DraftKings Sportsbook)

We’re going right back to Leon Draisaitl Thursday after he came through for us at +175 in Tuesday’s article. We were pretty lucky to get two points from Draisaitl, but we highlighted the tough matchup in Bostonm and this game is much easier for him. Only San Jose, Chicago and Ottawa have allowed more goals at 5v5 than the Blue Jackets. They also have the seventh-worst penalty kill percentage in the league and the Oilers check in with the game’s fourth-best power play percentage. Draisaitl has hit the score sheet in 15 of his past 18 games. He has 10 goals and 30 points over that span, and he has a ridiculous 11 multi-point games in his last 17 matchups. Connor McDavid has picked up at least two points in 10 of his last 12 games. Look for these two to light it up again as the Blue Jackets rank sixth in shot attempts, third in shots, sixth in scoring chances and eighth in high danger chances at 5v5/60 since Feb. 1, according to Natural Stat Trick.

Bonus

Vladimir Tarasenko Point

(-105, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Vladimir Tarasenko is set to make his debut with the Florida Panthers, and he’s expected to skate on the top line with Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart. Enough said. Honestly, Tarasenko is priced like he’s still a member of the Ottawa Senators. The Panthers rank eight in goals per game, and they have a top five power play. Only Carolina has had more shot attempts at 5v5 this season than Florida, and only Los Angeles and Edmonton have had more shots at 5v5. This is a high-powered offensive squad and Tarasenko will fit in.

Bonus

  • Vladimir Tarasenko Assist (+170, DraftKings)
  • Sam Bennett O 2.5 SOG (-110, DraftKings)
  • Owen Tippett O 3.5 SOG (+120, BetRivers)
Aleksander Barkov & Sam Reinhart Points SGP (-110, Bet365)
  • Carter Verhaeghe & Matthew Tkachuk Points SGP (+100, Bet365)
  • Barkov, Tarasenko & Reinhart 2 Points SGP (+3000, Bet365)

Kirill Kaprizov Over 3.5 SOG

(-130, BetRivers)

Kaprizov is fresh off a hat trick where he had five shots on goal. He ended a mini three-game slump where he failed to pick up a point, but the shots have been there over the past month. The winger has at least four shots on goal in eight of his last 11 games, and in the three games where he failed to register four shots, he had three. Kaprizov has at least two points in six of his past 12 games, and he’s in a good spot to make it seven games with two points. The Coyotes have lost 15 of their last 17 games, and they were embarrassed 5-2 in their latest game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Since Jan 1., they have a 2.99 GA/60 which is the third-highest mark in the NHL.

Bonus

  • Kirill Kaprizov O 1.5 Points (+160, DraftKings)

Sebastian Aho Over 1.5 Points

(+160, Bet365)

The Habs have played teams tight all season, especially of late, and Sam Montembeault has been very strong for most of the year, but Sebastian Aho has a history of lighting up Montreal. Aho picked up four assists in his last matchup against the Canadiens and he has nine goals and 20 points in 18 games against them. In his last five games against Montreal, Aho has five multi-point games. The two games where he failed to get two points came on the road. This game is at home, and Aho has been much better in Carolina. Through 31 home games, Aho has 15 goals and 38 points while averaging 20:01 per game. He only has nine goals and 26 points in 27 games on the road (19:02 TOI). Aho also just so happens to have five goals in his last seven games.
