Welcome to the NHL prop bets w/ Chris Meaney, where I share a few of my favorite NHL prop bets. There are 11 games on the NHL betting slate for Thursday.

I only hit on one of my three NHL prop bets Tuesday, but we cleaned up in the Bonus section between the New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets. Spoiler Alert: I’ll be picking on the Blue Jackets again.

This is a great night for SGP point parlays, so be sure to check out our FTN Bets Tracker for more. With our betting package you get all of our picks across all sports, plus access to our Discord channel and to our projections. Promo code Meaney will get you 20% off all packages at FTN

Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

Season Record: 64-58, +6.31 (Bonus not included in record)

The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Brendan Gallagher Over 2.5 SOG

(-105, DraftKings Sportsbook)

It’s tough to find a shot prop with decent odds, despite the massive slate. Gallagher hit for us in his last game and has cleared 2.5 shots in three of his last four. He has goals in three straight games and four shots in each of his last two matchups. The winger has been limited to 30 games this season and he’s only played five games since Jan. 3, but he logged 15:17 in his latest game, which is the most he’s played since returning. I missed on Michael Matheson’s shot prop in his last game, but the process remains right. He’s among the leaders in ice time and shot attempts over the last two months. I expect a lot of offense in this matchup between the Habs and the Panthers after they set an NHL record March 16 by combining for 10 goals in the first period (14 total). Matheson had a goal, two points and three shots. Carter Verhaghe scored two goals on six shots.

Bonus

  • Michael Matheson O 2.5 SOG (-125, BetRivers)
  • Aaron Ekblad O 2.5 SOG (-130, DraftKings)
  • Carter Verhaeghe O 3.5 SOG (-134, BetRivers)
  • Verhaeghe Goal (+114, FanDuel)
  • Verhaeghe Assist (+142, FanDuel) 0.5 units
  • Verhaeghe & Nick Suzuki Points SGP (+130, Bet365)
  • Suzuki, Matheson, Rafael Harvey-Pinard Points SGP (+320, Bet365) 0.5 units

Brayden Schenn Assist

(+130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Schenn’s point prop is a bit too steep to take as a single bet (-155), but he checks in riding a five-game point streak in which he’s racked up three goals and seven points to go along with 13 shots on goal. The Center has points in nine of his last 10 games and he’s picked up at least one assist in eight of those games. His new winger Jakub Vrana has eight goals, 10 points and 40 shots on goal in just 12 games with STL. He scored twice in his last game and has cleared 2.5 shots on goal in three straight and four of five. Don’t be surprised if these two connect again against a Chicago team that has lost six straight games. Over those six games, the Blackhawks have been outscored 26-7.

Bonus

  • Vrana Goal (+175, BetMGM)
  • Vrana Assist (+215, DraftKings) 0.5 units
  • Schenn & Jakub Vrana Points SGP (+145, Bet365)
  • Schenn O 1.5 SOG & Vrana O 2.5 SOG (+165, Bet365)
  • Vrana points and shots with Schenn points and shots pays +400 at Bet365 (SGP)

Farabee’s shot prop is juiced at 1.5, so maybe consider him in a parlay.

Patrice Bergeron Assist

(+130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

There’s no way the Bruins let us down here, right? I really am a sucker for punishment when it comes to Patrice Bergeron, so proceed with caution. I took the bait on his point prop last week and he came up empty. A matchup against Columbus is the best possible matchup a team can have as they rank first in shot attempts allowed, shots allowed, scoring chances allowed and high danger chances surrendered at 5v5/60 since March 1. That’s been the case most of the year, it’s just been a lot worse of late. They’ve coughed up a league-high 4.94 GA/60 this month. Columbus has allowed at least six goals in five of their last six games and at least four in 12 straight matchups. Bergeron’s point prop is too juiced to take as a single, but I’m in on his assist prop. He has five assists in his last six games.

Bonus

  • Jake DeBrusk O 2.5 SOG (-140, DraftKings)
  • David Krejci Assist (+126, DraftKings)
  • Kirill Marchenko O 2.5 SOG (+100, FanDuel)
  • Brad Marchand, Bergeron, DeBrusk Point SPG (+175, Bet365)

I gave some parlay options for DeBrusk and David Pastrnak on Mean Streets:
